Sorry but the GOP has a very racist slant to it anyway you slice it and it shows in their membership & political positions.
By the way a "Democrat" in Georgia is a Oxymoron! That state still has issues with race. Luckily I get to see all this unfold and the amount of prejudice that still exists in the GOP.

You're right, and many of us are disgusted by what we see...and hear. The GOP has never had a problem playing the race card...there's a whole suit of them in the GOP deck. They even played it against McCain in S.C. when he was running against Bush. The GOP roster lacks a viable choice in 2012, and have shocked many with their outrageous behavior. IMHO, the bottom line is that people don't want to regress...at least not the normal ones.

Blowing the whistle on these people and apologizing for his own idiot actions last year was party-neutral. So what if he was under indictment for fraud? That was probably his tipping point into finally acting like a normal human being.

Greer, now under indictment on fraud and money-laundering charges after being drummed out of the state party, also accused "many within the GOP" of having "racist views."

Blaming the Democratic Party for the misery so many minorities find themselves in is also getting old. Last time I checked the richest black county, and the city with the most educated black populace were located in blue areas. BTW, how are those blacks in the rural south holding out?
I thought that Georgia had the most educated and successful black populace.

This man is only pointing out the obvious. He has had a serious reality check. If his statement was based solely on ulterior motives, he could've left race out of this and simply apologized for his statement, but he didn't because he is being truthful. I don't believe that all Conservatives are racist but the ones who sit back and let the bigots speak for the party are just as guilty as the bigots. Any time some one calls them on it, they accuse that person of playing the race card, time and time again. It seems that they believe that they are outsmarting people when they accuse them of playing the race card as if that gives their racism a pass. It may work among you but those of us who are not racist can see through that. Starting with the last presidential campaign, Conservatives' strongest tactic has been to scare racist White people into believing that Blacks and Muslims are trying to take over the country. Terms like Socialist, Marxist and Liberal propaganda are used as code. Every time people utter these terms (Beck, Limbaugh, Pailin), my intelligence is insulted. It is truly sad that so many people fall into this and run with this lynch mob, but I guess in order for your intelligence to be insulted, you have to have some.

If we're talking about the "traditional" Republican (not tea party which is partly the KKK in drag IMO), I don't think that most Republicans are "racist", but I do think that there's a portion of them that want things "as they were in the good ole days." You know, the days that women stayed home and had the kids, didn't work, shut their mouths, and didn't vote, and when minorities stayed in the background and did their jobs and didn't cause a whole lot of ruckus. Basically, there are those that miss the days where one gender and one race held the majority of the money and wielded all the power. Falling into obscurity and becoming extinct as the dinosaur ain't so easy. That's why they're huffing and puffing as they're going down. The fact of the matter is that the color, ethnicity, religious preference, etc., is changing and that's not sitting too well with them.

First of all, he is actually pandering to the Democrats with his statements. You are evidence that the Democrats have swallowed this utterly transparent ruse hook, line, and sinker.

Secondly, Republicans treat blacks as equals, as in no special treatment and everyone is responsible for his or her actions regardless of race. This translates to the liberal mind as racism.

Thirdly, once a politician, always a politician. This guy is more than likely terrified that he will have to get a real job if he is not embraced by the other team.

This guy is playing the Democrats like a fiddle, do yourself and your party a favor and don't let it happen!
