What was that Churchill said about crocodiles and appeasers?? It appears the enviro kooks are the crocodiles in this madness.

The green weenies were all happy evil coal was "put in it's place" because hey we got nat gas that is cleaner and we can get it all over. Well now that the coal industry is left scrambling in it's wake and jobs lost the enviro loons set their sites on the next evil they see on the horizon......nat gas.

"[T]he Sierra Club had taken $26 million in funding from natural gas producer, Chesapeake Energy from 2007–2010. They shamelessly funded their anti-coal campaigns on fossil energy dollars and then … abandoned their one-time anti-coal ally and plunged their dagger into the next exposed back."

Now we have this............

"On May 3, the Sierra Club unveiled a new campaign name – Beyond Natural Gas – for its ongoing efforts to move away from natural gas and towards a cleaner energy future. “Switching from one dirty fossil fuel to another only creates a new set of problems,” said Michael Brune, Executive Director of the Sierra Club. “We need to wean ourselves from all fossil fuels, including natural gas, by 2050, and we need to start that transition from natural gas to clean energy yesterday.”

“Today’s announcement of the Beyond Natural Gas campaign bolsters the Sierra Club’s commitment to getting off dirty, dangerous fossil fuels, including natural gas, as soon as possible,” said Deb Nardone, Director of Sierra Club’s Beyond Natural Gas campaign. “With significant public health concerns and numerous loopholes in air and water safeguards, the natural gas industry continues to focus more on their profits and less on the people. We must push back and do everything we can to rein in an industry run amok.”

I guess they won't be happy until the lights completely go out.

The Sierra Club exists to please it members just like any other fraternal organization. The members want a world where all the nasty stuff is hidden from the perfect people living in a conflict free perfect world. I am NOT a member.

I believe we should use fossil fuels to build an energy future based on Nuclear Power with full fuel generation and recycle. Oil should be used as chemical feedstock and coal mostly left where it is.

That is all fine and dandy but until we get to that point there is no need to punish certian industries which in the end punishes the folks who will have to decide whether to pay their higher heat bills or put food on the table. Instead of waiting for alt energy to become price competitive with coal etc. this admin is forcing the price of what we have up to make it competitive with the green stuff and in the end we all lose out.

We've seen what one nuclear plant did in Chernobyl, now we have another in Japan. Not so sure that is the way to go........environmentally speaking.

SOP. Here, they went after logging, saying tourism will take its place. Now that logging is out, they want to regulate tourism until it leaves too.

In Canada we classfied The Sierra Club as an extremist oganization that are prone to eco-terrorism..So technically in Canada The Sierra Club is a terriost organzation..

We up here in Canada put them (The Sierra Club) in their place the last few years to save them from getting involved in politics and screwing up decent jobs and the economy and it is about time you guys south of the 49th did the same IMO
