Isn't this just wonderful?

Feds Spent $800,000 of Economic Stimulus on African Genital-Washing Program | CNSnews.com (http://www.cnsnews.com/news/article/75198 - broken link)

Quote:
The National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), a division of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), spent $823,200 of economic stimulus funds in 2009 on a study by a UCLA research team to teach uncircumcised African men how to wash their genitals after having sex.
A million dollars (with interest) of supposed "stimulus" money sent overseas so African men can take care of their dangly bits?

Well, depending on how they were washing their junk, it could very well be stimulating

Even if the UN were doing this, it would still come from our money.

What do you want us to say?

Clearly this is a dumb study. I don't like the implication that circumcision will cure AIDS. I also don't like the implication that not circumcising is primitive. I ALSO don't like the implication that it takes us uncircumcised males more than 5 seconds to learn how to do this. At the same time, the money is NOT leaving our borders. It's paying the salaries of PhD students at UCLA.

This is a misguided use of funds, but are we supposed to say that $800,000 out of $787,000,000,000 means the entire stimulus is a wash? Ask the construction workers in your area who are working on ARRA projects if it was a wash.
