1. It's what Republicans have been doing for years, thanks to Frank Luntz.

2. You said in another thread that you didn't care if Christine O'Donnell was "batsh*t crazy" - as long as she contributed to the destruction of Obama, you would be happy. Yeah, nice value system.

We can't predict the weather next week, but we're willing to tie our economic and legislative policies to 'global climate disruption'? Big mistake.

Absolutely. Fear of Muslims, gays, and blacks drive large numbers of conservatives to vote every year.

It's fear of anything they want to sell you on.
Healthcare - fear of going bankrupt from medical bills for example.
TARP - life as we know it would disappear unless we gave the banks billions of $$$.

Terrorism is a fear created since 9-11 that is an industry unto itself now.

I never said a word about global warming. I agree with you that there's some fear-mongering involved with it. There's no hypocrisy here.

I do support legislation that works toward fixing the environment and cutting back on pollution. However, this post basically sums it up. If you can find a compelling boogey-man, and convince the citizenry to fear it more than anything, you've got a powerful spear in your hands which you can use to push almost anything, and spend almost anything.

Identifying boogey-men for what they are is step one. Step two: ?
