Being Jewish and left handed are not the norm. Are they disordered too?
Obesity, slothfulness, and stuffing one's face full of fried high calorie foods is normal. Is that wonderful? Should we all do that?

WILMINGTON, Del., Sept. 20 (UPI) -- Christine O'Donnell, Delaware's Republican U.S. Senate nominee, said in an interview four years ago homosexuality is "an identity disorder."
Newly revealed comments from 2006 indicate O'Donnell once believed gays and lesbians have an "identity disorder," putting her squarely at odds with the American medical and psychological community, and popular opinion, ABC News reported Monday.
When a potentially leading politician has controversial views on minorities, that is more problematic than when your neighbor has such views. After all politicians are supposed to be our representatives.
She is running for a Senator's seat,NOT the President.
Obama doesn't believe in gay marriage,I guess people should not have voted for him then...
The Tea Party wouldn't be the Tea Party without bashing scientists, Professors, knowledgable experts, etc.
This is a cult, an anti-intellectual cult.

The libs just love to toss around this completely unfounded anti-intellectual thing don't they. Do you realize that, BY FAR, the worst critics professors, scientists, and "knowledgeable experts" face are their peers?!!! Do you really think they worry about the effing Tea Party?
Additionally, for every 1 successful scientific breakthrough there are literally thousands of abject scientific failures, many resulting in disastrous consequences. Given this, don't you think that keeping an eye on our scientific community might be a little prudent?
While a senator ranks below the president, he or she still is an important representative of the people in my view.
Not believing in (what does that mean anyway?) gay marriage is not the same as calling homosexuality a mental disorder.
But Obama could possibly be in a position to allow gay marriage, his objection to it has some bearing.
O'Donnell would be one of one hundred and should be representative of the people who elected her...so if she is elected they would know what she thinks.
I don't think it's so much an identity disorder as a moral disorder (an inclination to an immoral act). A considerable percentage of people DO feel an attraction for the same sex, and this is not a sin in itself. However, sodomy is a grave sin, and any inclination to that sin can be said to be a moral disorder. It's like pedophilia in that sense; pedophiles cannot easily remove their attraction to children, but they can refrain from sexual activity with them.
Whose morals are we talking about?
I could easily classify racism as moral disorder and yet exists and in certain social environments endorsed, and even encouraged.
Pedophilia can be classified as immoral because it is obviously harmful to the healthy development of a child and a child is sexually violated without being aware of the implications of what is happening.
Can you explain to me how two consenting adults that engage in a voluntary sexual activity is immoral. Exactly who does it harm?
