My life is not markedly different now than it was in 2003. I can't imagine what big differences the OP has seen since then. Let's see: Bush got elected in 2004 (big whoop), Obama in 2008, that really was a major change. My yougest DD voted for pres. the first time that year. I dunno, I have the same car I had in 2003, my daughter's car is a 1998 model; I think DH's is a 2005 model. I am not computing this.
another poster made that statement and i'm certain it's true. but i'm tired of being talked down on simply because of my age. the reverse ageism i've experienced in the workplace is beyond ridiculous.
and believe it or not, regardless of the silly ranting i'm doing in this thread, i'm a very respectful, well-mannered individual who willingly listens to those that have something to tell me. but to even suggest that I don't earn your respect because you're older than me? like, who the hell do these people think they are?
no disrespect intended. i tease everybody, and i dont care if people tease me back. you cant call me baldy though because i still have a full head of hair.
but understand that respect is not just given, it is earned.

you're older, so it's not going to seem like a big deal to you. to my grandparents, everything after the 70s is probably a big blur to them. but to suggest that someone your daughter's age understanding of the world is no different from today's teenagers is absolutely false. sorry

i've always been nothing but respectful and professional in the workplace

Boy, do you not know what you don't know! I guess my DD is an old bat, too, at 23?
