I never gave much thought to it either, but they talked about it on 60 Minutes a few months ago. The turnover is due to the fact that it's one of the most stressful and demanding jobs in politics.

Is that the same reason why other COS have left other administrations as well? Can you provide a quote from the COS stating that this is the reason?

No more than you can provide a quote from Obama stating why he's afraid to show his long form birth certificate.

I wonder why Dick Cheney and Donald Rumsfeld quit when they were COS for President Ford. Both of them served a similar length of time as Emanuel has served.

Says a person from a failed state of Missouri. Tell me what exactly has your state contributed to this country except Rush Limbaugh?

Maybe the whole staff is starting to realize the "Great American Experiment"
is a complete failure.

Both stayed with Ford in some capacity. Rumsfeld went on to be Secretary of Defense under Ford. Cheney replaced Rumsfeld in 75 and went on to be Ford's campaign manager for the 76 election.

Does anyone rad an article or the actual thread befoe they post???

Its been said over and over again that Chiefs of Staff typically last two years. Why is this being ignored by the right in this thread? Also its no secret that Emmanuel has long wanted to run for Mayor and likely would once he had the opportunity. This has been known since before the time Obama was even running for President.

Axlerod will be running Obama's campaign in 2012

So please read the article, and read the thread before you post....
