It's also unconstitutional for the U.S. to go to war without a declaration of war by Congress, but we did it anyway.

After all, "It's just a goddamned piece of paper". Ask George if you don't believe it.
No it's not. YOu just don't declare war, and you are just limited by the war powers act...

For the same reason THEY didn't get what you left leaners wanted. You know like government paid health care.

The good stuff has come into being and the rest will happen later.

Having been on Medicare for over 12 years I will say that the way they, bureaucrats who run the state Medicare systems, have determined what would be paid by Medicare is the main cause. Doctors and hospitals just couldn't get decent amounts of money from Medicare patients and therefore they "stuck" the insurance companies, and so on.

This is correct. Hospitals and physicians who accept Medicare and Medicaid do not get reimbursed their real costs. The difference is made up by charging the private sector more.

Another factor is the cost of all the medical equipment that hospitals use for treatment. Those big scanners, etc. don't come cheap.

A sad day for those who construct and distribute children's coffins.
Before we know it the entire funeral industry will be losing jobs.

Fact Sheet: The Affordable Care Act’s New Patient’s Bill of Rights
http://www.healthreform.gov/newsroom...of_rights.html

How These New Rules Will Help You:

Stop insurance companies from limiting the care you need.

Remove insurance company barriers between you and your doctor

Builds On Other Affordable Care Act Policies

These new protections complement other parts of the Affordable Care Act including:

Reviewing Insurers’ Premium Increases.

Getting the Most from Your Premium Dollars

Keeping Young Adults Covered

Providing Affordable Coverage to Americans without Insurance due to Pre-existing Conditions

New Consumer Protections Starting As Early As This Fall

No Pre-Existing Condition Exclusions for Children Under Age 19.

No Arbitrary Rescissions of Insurance Coverage

No Lifetime Limits on Coverage

Restricted Annual Dollar Limits on Coverage

etc
etc

You will need to read the whole thing to get all the details, but it's not that long and should take no more than 10 minutes to read.

I am happy with most of it! I certainly wouldn't want anything (other than maybe the limitless life time cap) in this bill of rights to be repealed.

For the cap, I think 3-5 million would suffice and at least give some knowable number to businesses that self-insure.

Those are great things. However, there is a lot of crapola in that bill with things not even related to health care.

A simple bill that takes the cap off lifetime limits and preexisting conditions would have been great...even taxing insurance companies a high amount if a customer has a premium over $10,000 per year (example).

Someone tell me why I have to pay for your health care because you cannot provide for yourself!

Don't worry...by mid-November...the repeal process will have been put in motion.
