Welfare recipients are Latino and blacks. Vietnamese are hard working, save money and build businesses.
The Vietnamese children work hard in school. They do not rely on affirmative action like Latino and black children.
Go to Little Saigon and check out all of the people on Medi-Cal. I worked for a drug company and called on many of the doctors in Little Saigon. Guess who our main payor was: Cal-Optima, the OC Medi-Cal program. Your children may work hard in school, but please don't make it seem like the Viet Cong are not living off of the gov't teat as much or more than all of the other immigrant groups in so cal. I have seen them get Medi-Cal for their parents who never worked a day in this country and for their kids by fraudulently working off the books.. They clearly know how to work the system and pull at the heartstrings of ppl by dramatizing their stories of fleeing from their wartorn country.

Atleast the parents children can grow upp and become productive citzens through the education they aquire this is how it always been the US is a nation built by imigrants.

Russian and Vietnamese legal and Illegal Immigrant numbers are puny compared to the number of Illegal Latinos in the US,especially California and welfare fraud by any group needs to be investigated and dealt with.

Yeah, you got that right!! I lived in west hollywood for 8 years. Part of the problem with them is that there are advocacy groups that show them how to apply for all of the benefits. the russians occupy most of the eastside of weho (and growing) and do not assimilate with the rest of us. they are yet another group of ppl who never worked a day in this country, yet manage to qualify for subsidized housing, medi-cal, food stamps, etc. The owners of the Stolichnaya bakery @ fairfax and sta monica bl were once investigated and seen on national TV for welfare fraud. the armenians area also crooks. the truth is that there are many scamming immigrants in so cal who never even worked in this country. that is a big reason why the State is in so much trouble. I think that the only way for it to be fixed would be collapse of the gov't from supporting all of these leaches of our system.
Most Hispanic politicians are extremely racist against non-Hispanic. The media just gives thema free pass because they are a "minority" and they can't be racist.

To those of you who think that the vietnamese people are a noble people - NOT!! I worked in westminster, calif for 2 years and never saw a more dirtier, unethical people than the vietnamese. They suck up every kind of welfare program available to californians, but yet are stupid enough to vote for Republicans who are in favor of cutting their benefits. they could have saved taxpayers a lot of $$ by staying in vietnam instead of ruining what was once a decent so cal city.
I also lived and worked in that area for many years and I agree to some extent. Though I know a lot of Vietnamese and will attest that not many of them are like this (especially the hard working successful ones), there are proportionately more dishonesty regarding welfare fraud and credit card fraud than amongst other racial groups. It is considered practical, acceptable behavior to get any benefits possible even if some trickery or technicality is involved. In other cultures dishonesty is considered more shameful. I don't think Hispanics are any more ethical on average. This isn't racism but fact.
That said, I don't think they "ruined" Westminster. Not at all. Maybe they ruined the aesthetics by building ugly McMansions with the front door extending out to the sidewalk... but there are a lot of thriving businesses and cheap services (at maybe 1/3 the cost as surrounding white-dominated cities).
In any case most Hispanic and Vietnamese politicians and politician wannabes definitely do NOT have the best interest of the people in mind. It's a power play or because they perceive getting some sort of personal benefit. Usually the most underqualified, most self-serving people are the ones running for office. I know this because I actually look up every single candidate and it seems like the weirdest people think that they somehow DESERVE to hold a public office. Many have controversial backgrounds or are white collar criminals of sorts. They also run for multiple different positions in rapid succession to increase their chances of success.

True but we are just not getting the cream of Russian immigrants like we did many years ago. The most ambitious Russians are making fortunes in Russia.
We throw those words around too loosely, but the truth is, there's no way to misinterpret Sanchez's remarks. She was plainly playing the race card, making a play for the Hispanic vote by pitting Latinos against the smaller Vietnamese community.
What's startling, too, was her apparent sense of entitlement.
I guess in her mind, the seat belongs to her, the democrats and latinos.
