It is quite interesting that Algeria, not a supposedly radical Islamic nation, has laws forbidding people from NOT following Islamic religious law....even when those people are non-Muslims....one might almost think Islam is intolerant of other religions.

You play the "understanding" card yet have yet to show proof of your belief that all liberals think like that.

Exactly. I am a leftie and I HATE Islam. Would love for it to go away. Don't wish to understand them at all.

If you hate it so much, you're free to move, too.
Or is it easier to play victim?

But you have to admit you ARE not the typical leftist...most for some bizarre reason go out of their way to be 'understanding' of islam.

Exactly. Our freedom to practice personal religious beliefs is protected under the constitution. So why is it that so many of the same people who HATE Muslims want to do the same thing here--base American policy on their own personal religious beliefs in this country? I'm a devout Christian, but the version of Christianity I follow (you know, love your neighbor, all that good stuff that Jesus yammered on about) seems to be pretty different than that of some folks on the radical fringe right. I'm just glad I live in a country where their beliefs can't be forced down my throat.

Who exactly is trying to "base American policy on their own personal religious beliefs"??

Some examples might help.
