So, as we all know by now (unfortunately), some comedian was invited to give "testimony" today in DC. We all know this, not because we actually sit and watch Comedy Central, but because the media made it a priority that we are aware of this. And they, get this, believe and pushed it as something worthy, relevant, and serious.

Something most of us arent ware of....a man named Christopher Coates has been testifying on the voter intimidation that occured in 2008 and how the WH/Justice Dept refused to carry on with the case due to political reasons. Coates has been before the US Civil Rights Commission. Most of America ISNT aware of this because the media deemed it not worthy, aka hurtful to the liberal agenda.

This whole fiasco sums up a lot of our nations problems.

1. Our Congress is the worst viewed upon Congress in history. They are a joke and a disgrace to most of the public who pay a bit more attention to things that matter, rather than celebrity gossip or whatever reality show is popular now. The actions of inviting a comedian to make a mockery of a serious issue, is just fitting. There is little else that needs to be said about this. If you're among those that were happy to see this comedian tesitfy, then there isnt a high enough dose of common sense and sanity to make you see the light. So I wont bother with that much.

2. The media propts this mockery up, defending it as best they could. They didnt however, think it was important for the public to be aware of Coates' testimony on possible wrongdoing by the WH/JD and the refusal to go forward with cases due to politics and race. The media, like Congress and CC and this comedian, are absolute jokes. The media also doesnt have very good favorability ratings. Look at the news of all the firings, step downs, ratings, etc. The media has been exposed as frauds who ignore and twist inorder to push a liberal agenda. If this were testimony had possible negative implications on a conservative administration or conservative led Justice Dept, you know damn well the media would have reported on it over and over until they made damn sure the entire nation knew.

3. Priorities. "Stars" "Celebrities". What the hell are we doing as a nation. What the hell are adults doing? We are in a very, very sad state when there are so many "ADULTS" who spend more time and put more trust and attention toward "celebrities" and all the latest gossip. And sorry to say it sports fanatics, some of you fall into this too. Nothing wrong with enjoying sports games, movies, etc. But I think its time people grow up. There are a heck of a lot more important things going on in our nation that who hit the most home runs, which celebrity is acting the most like a *****, whos dating who, whos wearing the lastest "fashion", etc.
I really wonder, if this is all just a phase or fad, or will people priorities regarding this continue to decline and just always be worse than the year before. I cant believe millions of people, mostly adults, get so caught up in this nonsense to a point where they hang out to everyword and ignore the happenings around them that are more important.

Absolutely agreed, but I hope you're including Glen Beck, Sean Hannity or any of the other 'talk show hosts' and pundits in your 'celebrity' category.

Well the entire "New Black Panters" kerfluffle has been invetigated by the DoJ and the REPUBLICAN DOMINATED Civil Rights Commission and found to be TOTALL LACKING IN MERIT and "an attempt by Republicans to 'topple' the Obama Administration". The last quote is by the REPUBLICAN APPOINTED, and Republican head of the Civil Rights Commission.

IOW, the entire thing is being pushed by people with NO FIRSTHAND KNOWLEDGE of what they're talking about.

It would be like if I went on TV every day and screamed that "Glenn Beck is an alcoholic and druggie, Rush Limbaugh is a (reformed) druggie, Newt Gingrich is a serial adulterer", Bill O'Reilly is a serial liar".

Except all of those are TRUE, while none of what Coates is saying is!
