Gay threads are dumb, no one is ever going to completely agree on the issue. And it might be nice to think that in the future gays will be seen as 100% normal by everyone...Maybe they will, but maybe not. One can argue about it forever.

Besides that there are some simple facts that can be brought forward. For one being gay is a lifestyle. Does it matter ? Yes it does, but it is something someone can hide IF they want to [say for job advancement]. Race you cant hide. If you are White and want to work up the ladder at say Def Jam records [majority black recording label], you wont be able to hide the fact you are white and likely will have a harder time do to that. Same deal with being black, there are challenges that you will never be able to hide.

"Being gay" is NOT a lifestyle. It is a sexual orientation, nothing more, nothing less. Being an outdoors man is a lifestyle. Being a socialite is a lifestyle. Being a homebody is a lifestyle. And gay people can be any of those.

And why should anyone have to hide such an important part of who and what they are for any reason? Do you really believe being gay, black, white or pink with purple polka dots has any affect on a person's ability to do a job?

Well, they're not exactly the same of course, but they're still the same in the sense that both are issues of human rights.

Homosexuality is a sex act? Where did you find this. Civil rights is about all people being treated equally. The same!!

Equality, no harm, diversity, tolerance and human rights, human rights and human rights? There are things in life that will never have equality. I mean the payment gap and the classes. Some people will be payed higher than others. Not to mention feminists have brainwashed and put so much self-esteem in girls that boys are falling behind in schools (and the whole thing that 'gender is a social construct') thank you very much. What about something that doesn't provoke 'harm' immediatetly? What about something that provokes 'harm' over a period of time? How about that blacks abuse affirmative action and have a victim mentality? They are still stuck in the 1960's civil rights struggle and ''The white man is keeping us down!''. How about that diversity in itself kills diversity? If enough mixing goes on then diversity is gone. Wouldn't it be better to call it a melting pot? How about tolerance and discrimination? There are certain things that are inherently discriminatory. Are you going to eliminate that too?

What about the gays that make everything political and about their sexuality and if you don't like it then ''What a homophobe! Bigot!''

For your information I'm not the 'typical' racist 'redneck conservative' stereotype. I'm not American, am of mixed descendence and most of the younger generational peers I've met agree. Stop making everything seem like a ''Human rights struggle! We will survive! The bigots are out there to hurt you!''

That's why young people even go ''That's so gay!''. Because truly it is stupid. Trying to put two men or two women in the same place as a man and a woman.

Why don't people create an institution for gays? Marriage is for straights and ''...'' is for gays? Any names for a union for gays?

Gays Against Gay Marriage

How about this? Make a distinction between religious marriage VS civil unions and problem solved. Everybody from gays to straights can get civil unions but if Jews or Christians want say religious marriage + civil union they get one as well.

Gay is what you do. Black is who you are. Big difference.
