Unless regulators waive a requirement of the health-care overhaul, McDonald’s
has warned federal regulators it could drop its health insurance plan for almost 30,000 hourly workers,
The Wall Street Journal
reported.

This new health insurance law sucks big time.
Remember the guy who worked at McDonald's, and asked 0bama how he was going to improve the worker benefits he was receiving? Well, I guess 0bama just answered him, he signed 0bamaCare into law and now Julio Osegueda has lost his health care coverage at McDonald's.

They sure all have coverage but do they have care as readily available to them as we do?

The whole idea behind government enforced mandated coverage is to explode costs so employers that offer health insurance as a benefit will be tempted (if not forced) to drop coverage. That's what'll make everyone flock to government run (aka socialized, single-payer) health care. It's creeping socialism by stealth. Nothing more and nothing else.
The way health insurance premiums were rising eventually employers would be forced to do one of two things even if health care reform had not taken place. They would have either dropped health insurance as a benefit or raise the amount that employees pay in premiums. The health care reforms give corporations the perfect cover to drop health insurance as a benefit and then blame it all on the government.

And the answer to that is Obamacare? Not cool.

Because this is now a discussion about the teleological goals of ObamaCare -namely to explode costs and break the private insurance market leaving only the federal government in charge of health care.

Update: Steve Russell, Senior Vice President and Chief People Officer at McDonald's USA released a statement last night that says, in part:

Media reports stating that we plan to drop health care coverage for our employees are completely false...McDonald's is committed to providing competitive pay and benefits, and the strongest employment opportunities possible.

It should be noted that McDonald's lifetime caps start at $2000, the price of one ER visit.
So, would you rather MCd's provided nothing?

Happier to you means spending more on health care to receive an inferior product while at the same time having higher rates of joblessness.....LOL
So American health care is inferior? I guess that explains why more Europeans come here for treatments denied them by outfits like England's NHS. (Question: What is a QALY or Quality-Adjusted Life Year?) How many Americans do you see traveling to Europe for care?

B.S.

The amount of Americans traveling to India, Thailand, Mexico, etc dwarfs whatever small services Europeans come here for....LOL

In Europe they all have coverage but not all have available care.

EXACTLY!!! Amazes me how selfish and ruthless people are in this forum and this country. When I think of a 1st world country, one of the top things I think of is for ANYONE who is a citizen to have access to healthcare. Not because "they earned it" How classy. As far as I'm concerned life and the ability to live a healthy life should be a right, not a privilege. Some benefits our governement doles out I agree we could do without them or cut them short. But never healthcare. I'd hate to think because someone in my family didn't have the money or the right insurance, they couldn't get the care to save their life.
