OMG, that's both hilarious and frightening at the same time. The Gettysburg Address? Really? I wonder if this is the same kind of incredibly wrong American History that Glenn Beck plans on teaching on his new online University.

the only problem would be, if he(the President), were quoting from either the Gettysburg Address or the Declaration of Independence...and ommited passages or words. Paraphrasing is conveying ideas in one's own words.
Since he is a self-avowed Christian, I am sure he did not do it on purpose. He would not plaigerize Lincoln. That would be wrong!
If he did, he would be a liar and a non-Christian.
Is it wrong that I think it's funny to watch the uberpatriots in this thread mess up their quotes and attributions? Lincoln said nothing of "Inalienable rights", Obama didn't paraphrase the Gettysburg address in the first place, and "under God", as mentioned in the headline, isn't in the DoI.
"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, endowed with certain--by whom? Government? Who endows this equality? Who endows us with the rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness? This is not an insignificant thing, and the reason it's not insignificant is because all of these questions about who is Obama, who really shaped him, where are his values sourced to, who educated and informed this man? This is not a miscue. It's things like this that lead people to question his faith.”
He does have a good point, who does 0bama think endows us with these rights? I'm guessing he thinks it is government, since everything he has been doing points to the government as the all powerful.

Thats the problem. The Declaration, Gettysburg Address, and Constitution are not someone else's to convey ones own words. Its to easy to twist someone else's words to fit your own agenda.
This isn't just done by President Obama and not just with these documents. However these documents are so much more important to how we became who we are then any other document that they command exactness and should be be stated in exact form.
The other issue is that President Obama was intentionally pandering to his audience and he continually dose that. Why would he fear the exact wording.
