(Oct. 4) -- The former Illinois state trooper who killed two sisters after plowing into their car at 126 mph is seeking workers' compensation for injuries he suffered in the crash. And that's not sitting well with the family members of the dead teenagers.
Hardly a squad goes by where I don't see the driver on a distraction device.
Good ole fashioned police work, I tell ya.
And I think squads should have govenors to limit speeds to 80 mph.
They can hang up with the lover, wife etc. and use the phone to call in a roadblock, it's safer for the public.
Distracted driving is NOT okay for cops. When I almost got hit by one while jogging I yelled at him, fully intending a ticket. I got one. I told him I would go to court over it and not pay a dime. I didnt pay a penny.
I feel terrible for this mother who lost both her daughters. She deserves his paycheck for the next 20 years.
I lost 2 cousins; a 6 year old and her father, in a head-on freeway collision. It's unimaginable if you've never lived through it. My heart absolutely breaks for these parents. The arrogance of the jerkwad who acted with such careless disregard for the lives of the people sharing the road with him, is stunning. He should be imprisoned for the rest of his life. And the gall of him trying to collect from the state for his injuries, which were self-inflicted, is beyond the pale. I'd like to kill him myself.
