During sentencing, he went into rants about how killing americans was the right thing to do. The judge at one point asked him if he swore allegiance to the USA at his naturalization ceremony, and he responded yes, but said he didn't mean it...

BBC News - Times Square bomb plotter sentenced to life in prison
Good. He got the sentence he deserved.

Lying during his naturalization ceremony as a soldier of allah so he could kill infidels on US soil is enough reason to take Geert Wilders seriously when he suggests putting a halt to any immigration from Muslim countries, period, regardless of the professed religous or political ideology of the person seeking entry into the US or other Western countries. Political Islam and Western civilization simply do not mix.

I think this answer is obvious given Dearbornistan MI and the radical Somalis in MN. Ever watch the pro-Sharia/Pro-Islam parade footage from Islam Day in NYC?

Yes, we need comprehensive immigration reform alright, it needs to be made more restrictive.

If you have ever been present at a naturalization ceremony - and I have - you will know that it is a huge deal for the people going through it ... akin to reaching the promised land.

Because one person reneged on their oath does not make the whole process bad. Candidates for naturalization go through a pretty intense screening process. Okay, so they got one wrong. But what about the thousands of others they got right and who are actively contributing to our democracy.

Where do you think it's more likely for a naturalization to go wrong and lead to terrorism? An immigrant from Denmark, or an immigrant from Pakistan?

I think that until moderate followers of Islam reign in their violent radical factions that are murdering and terrorizing worldwide that the risk is no longer one worth taking. We are, IMO, in a fight for the survival of Western civilization.

I did not suggest halting all immigration, just agreeing with Wilders on his theory of halting immigration of those who are citizens of predominantly Muslim countries, regardless of their personal religion/ideology.

Fact is we have plenty of homegrown radical Islamic terrorism here now and there is no need to continue to leave the door open any longer. Doing the same thing will only procure the same results when it comes to Islamic immigration and the probability of radicalization in mosques and madrassas here, IMO. YMMV

Denial kills. Luckily the Islamic jihadist Times Square Bomber was not so lucky and suffered an impotent detonation. This time another mass murder was avoided due to the incompetance of the jihadist, not because Napalitano's DHS or the US immigration/naturalization "system worked".

Terrorism will continue on US soil. We can reduce the likelyhood and frequency in the long-term ahead by blocking immigration from some countries to the US.

Is terrorism the sum total of all possible violent crimes? I think not. So while you are stressing over what some immigrant Islamic nut case is doing you just let another 100 nut cases from another part of the world. Brilliant. I feel safer already.
