What? How can the Republicans stop Obama when the Democrats control Congress? I am not defending the Republicans, but they just don't have power to stop anything Obama can come-up with

It's the equivalent of "The dog ate my homework". I'm surprised they didn't blame Bush for it.

And nothing seems to confuse liberals more than when the victims of their policies object....the classic line is the one about "people voting against their own self-interest." As if it is any self-respecting person's interest to desire a nanny state.

Agreed.

We have so many regulations that our manufacturers are finding it impossible to remain in the US to make a profit, so they branch out to foreign markets, which keeps their company afloat here in the US.

We lost of VCR and TV manufacturers, and the democrats want to force all the rest of manufacturing to follow suit.

Washington, D.C. , Sep 27 - By Nicole Crain and W. Mark Crain; Wall Street Journal

The annual cost of federal regulations in the United States increased to more than $1.75 trillion in 2008, a 3% real increase over five years, to about 14% of U.S. national income. This cost is in addition to the federal tax burden of 21%, for a combined cost of 35% of national income. One out of every three dollars earned in the U.S. goes to pay for or comply with federal laws and regulations, and new policies enacted in 2010 for health care and financial services will increase this burden.

So on one hand they say "tax the rich" and when the rich start leaving and taking the jobs they cry "where's the jobs" ?

Can't have it both ways and many posters warned that if the US became too burdensome these rich guys would just pick up and go elsewhere.

Well they did and this is what we are left with..welfare, food stamps, unemployment and low paying physical jobs that cannot be offshored.

There's nothing stopping that today under Dem control.
Two years and the offshoring has not stopped.

Business will go where their labor costs are cheap.
There is nothing either the Dems or the Repubs can do to change that.

Action is strong the words. When Obama start taking action on the things he said he will do, then we will talk. Other than that, it's politic as usual.

There should be no restrictions on where I can put jobs.

We live in a global society and need to learn how to compete.

First of all, outsourcing is not off shoring. A lot of outsourcing involves no off shoring.

Second, you probably could not afford half the goods you enjoy today if everything were made in the USA.
