Does it make sense to delay the final judgment of a brutal killer because the state of California's supply of sodium thiopental (Pentothal) was expiring three hours after the execution of Albert Greenwood Brown was scheduled to take place on Thursday, September 30th?

Why couldn't they just use whatever stocks they had of the expiring drug just to make sure he was dead? The killer surely didn't give his victim the luxury of going out painlessly. Don't we have some way of determining how lethal a drug is if it's hours before the expiration date? What's to say that the drug is more or less lethal hours before the "expiration" time/date?

As it stands today, the state of California has acquired an amount to kill four slimeballs and they're holding off on the execution of Brown until early next year after MORE appeals. The slimeball has already been on Death Row for 30 years.

Just amazing!

lol @ the one that voted to commute it. So they'd only commute it because the drug expired?

Brutal killer? What about a firing squad? Surely California has enough guns.

The state of California allows a death row inmate to choose his method of execution, either lethal injection or the gas chamber.

The slimeball Brown refused to make a selection, and the rule dictates that if in 10 days of a scheduled execution the condemned inmate has not chosen a method of execution it automatically becomes lethal injection. California's supply was expiring 3 hours AFTER Brown would have been executed and they decided against the lethal injection method because of why??? He's scheduled to die, does it matter if the drug expired 3 hours after he was supposed to have had the injection?

Totally ridiculous! It's a drug cocktail he's given, the sodium thiopental is a barbiturate which means the drug was to put him in a deep coma. If they gave him 5x the dose of whatever he needed (just to make sure it took) wouldn't have made any difference because the slimeball woulda been in sleepytown.

I am really sick of paying for these jerks to live on death row while the go through years of appeals.

Brown should be dead already. And the rest of the garbage on death row should be in the chute ready for their final send off.

He's a child rapist-murderer. I'd be good with any method, but prefer stoning like the Iranians do.
Let this mofo suffer 100 times worse than his victim....and lets see it on TV so everyone sees that the US will no longer tolerate these animals' existance.

The brutal killer gave no such considerations when killing his victim. In return the state should let nothing get in the way of the execution.
