Nice to see the "so-called" Christians flouting their newest motto; "WE'RE JUST AS HATEFUL AS THOSE WHO WE CONSTANTLY DENOUNCE AS BEING HATEFUL".

I'll weigh in because I happen to live in Loveland. Our idiot city councilman was almost creaming his jeans because after he got on local (Denver) TV making an a** of himself denouncing the art he got invited on "Fox And Friends" to make an even bigger a** of himself.

The one good upshot of this is I've had calls from several people who want to mount a SERIOUS CAMPAIGN to replace this azzhat when his term is up. His entire gig as councilman revolves around playing golf on the TWO CITY-OWNED golf courses. The other council person in our ward is normally pretty level-headed but she was on TV making idiotic statements too. Of course she just got voted in last year.

BTW, this exhibition has been on display in several other cities in Colorado and no one raised any objection. I guess some locals just looked up from their buttered toast with the image of Jesus and found something to be offended about.

So it is ok that Obama's gig revolves him playing on private golf courses (when not on the campaign trail) but not ok that a city councilman uses city golf courses?

Calvin I agree. But in eliminating the one you eliminate the others. Its so funny how the Christian right continues to do things that inevitably hurt there own cause.
They fight to keep the 10 commandments at the court house but deny an opposing view the same opertunity.
My position is not against religion it's for the constitution. However the christen right holds the position that if your not for them you are against them. They cut there own wrist and are losing so many of there arguments such as commandments in public because they use the same arguments as the ACLU except to oppose non christian values.

I must have missed it. Where in the article did it say this guy was a leftist?

Just wondering since I have never seen the word there, anywhere.
The amount of confusion indicated by your post is hard to fathom.

1. Most artwork is created by individuals who have nothing to do with the NEA.

2. Even if your tax dollars are funding an artist's work, the artist's freedom of expression is protected by the First Amendment.

3. Freedom of expression is the same as Freedom Of Speech, which you'll find in the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

That's a rather judgmental and bigoted statement to make. Are you judging us?

Where did it say that government funding financed it?

This is all about free speech and censorship, and how right-wingers and some religious people want to censor speech that they don't like.

That would be a crime. Disrespecting mythical religious figures is not a crime or wrong.

I'm curious if there is any thread here in the P&OC forum these days that can go on without people bringing up Muslims.

Christian people should pray about this instead of resorting to violence and destruction.
