A complete non-issue. If the Gallup figures were lower than the government report you would be arguing with me about how the government is wrong as Gallup is more correct.
1. Thanks for explaining it, but if was really such a problem, you needn't have bothered.

2. I don't think so. I don't operate like that. I didn't argue that with the Jan. 08 rates, did I?

Let us be aware of the trickery of obama and his minions as they try to mitigate the damage this report will do to their political lives.
[MOD CUT]. You have no comprehension of how the economy works and are only concerned about the political angle associated with these reports and how they will hurt/help the Democrats and Republicans. We are coming off of the worst economic decline since the Great Depression; I hate to break it to you but the current economic fiasco isn't as bad as it could have been.

The economic and political consequences of the bailouts, stimulus bills, tax cuts and such were written in bold before the 2008 election. They conflicted with one another but went hand in hand and were an evil necessity. Had Obama lost the election, the same people screaming about socialism and communism would be praising the McCain administration for their job at stabilizing the economy. And rest assured some of those liberals would be bashing the McCain camp for their lack of "fiscal responsibility".

I am not saying Obama is a saint as many of his biggest supporters are angered at him, but he has done a pretty darn good job given the cards he was dealt. But please mr. "enlightened one", could you propose what economic actions the government should have taken to have eased the recession?

Ya most people don't realize we were losing 800,000 jobs a month when Bush left office. Another thing that people don't realize is when Clinton left office when had $260B in the bank, and what was the deficit when the last Bush left? I wholeheartedly think that we would be under marital law if McCain was president because our unemployment rate, welfare cases, foreclosures, etc would be uncontrollable.

You kinda forgot to add the job losses only started after the dems took control of congress right?

The unemployed ( Now 10.1 when it was not going over 8.0 ), foreclosures ( Record 18 months in a row ) and welfare ( Record spent ) are all at an all time high and setting records. All since Obama took over.

Always looking backwards. A typical dem thing when they put us in a current mess like we are today.

What happened Jan. 3rd 2007?

Oh how they do forget, the 2006 mid terms and what happened.
Congress, especially Barney Frank, is the head of the financial.... and housing sectors. Hmmm? the very two things that got the ball rolling. Yet it is Bush's fault.

We would have had to have been under marshal law for Clinton, Bush or BO to have done any of the things claimed since presidents can't pass laws.

How quickly they (purposely) forget that fact.

So, the official number released this morning is 9.6. I know the OP and others will jump up and down and say that the administration is under-reporting, however, I will remind everyone who has the least bit of familiarity with reporting data that when looking at only whole percents, 9.6 rounds up to 10 and 10.1 rounds down to 10, so, for all intents and purposes, Gallup and the government would show exactly the same result.
