Yes because it's become increasingly evident to me that many Americans don't have the intellectual ability to fully grasp what is going to in this country or what to do about it. So they will run to the Republican Party based on the propaganda of god, less government and country. Once the Republican Party gets free reign again the corporations and special interest will continue unabated with raping country for all it's worth.

This is the beginning of the end of America being a dominant military and economic power. It’s China’s world and we are just playing in it.

Depends on how you choose to define victory.

Defeating Saddam Hussein was a win.

Establishing a democratic government in Iraq? It’s still a work in process. It will take YEARS to really understand the full impact of the U.S. military involvement in Iraq.

The mission will be accomplished once we get rid of the entire dem party running things.

When 2012 rolls around and we are done with the entire dem party and the idiot in the WH then and only then will the mission be accomplished.
In light of the fact that the Taliban are willing to enter peace talks and drone strikes have taken out several major Taliban and Al-Qaeda leaders it can't be all bad.

Right. the North Koreans were "willing to enter peace talks", too.
So, we had peace talks.
Technically, we are STILL at war with North Korea; NO TREATY HAS EVER BEEN SIGNED TO END THE WAR!
Will we still be "negotiating" with the Taliban 50 years from now?

America won EVERY BATTLE in Vietnam, but the media declared the war lost.

Exactly right. In modern warfare, capitals and territory mean nothing. A side loses when its national will breaks. The mdeia did everything it could to sap national will. After Tet the North Vietnamese had lost all of the resources, ammo, and supplies they had stockpiled. THey had lost a lot of soldiers and they had lost all the places they captured during that short offensive. It was a total disaster. However, all that mattered was that the media was shocked by it and reported it on the news and the American reaction gave the North Vietnamese the will to hold on. We were never closer to real victory than after Tet. If we had boldly delcared that we would puch forward into North Vietnam at that time the North would have folded. 40 years later it would seem we haven't learned all that much.

Presidential visits to US Navy ships:
William J. Clinton (1992-2001)
Carrier Carl Vinson (1993; 1995)
Carrier George Washington (1994)
Carrier Independence (1996)
Carrier Harry S. Truman (1998)
Guided Missile Cruiser (AEGIS) Hue City (2000)

George W. Bush (2001- ) Carrier Abraham Lincoln (2003)

Want more? The 1994 Clinton visit to the USS GW included these tidbits:
“President Clinton used the aircraft carrier George Washington to ferry himself, various high-ranking officials, 40 White House aides, and 23 members of the Press Corps across the English Channel. He made remarks on the ship June 5, and the next day he and his entourage went ashore for the ceremonies in France (images of which were later used in campaign commercials). Along with them went dozens of towels and bathrobes lifted from the ship’s stores. The Navy investigated and presented the White House a bill for $562. On June 16, 1994, the White House Office of Scheduling and Advance issued a memo to the staff asking that those who took the items please remit payment. No checks were forthcoming, so a member of the office paid the entire bill just to kill the issue.
“(Democrat) President Franklin Roosevelt also took the Cruiser U.S.S. Houston to the Galapagos Islands for a fishing trip. “
“Mission Accomplished”, indeed!
The mission in this case, was the mission of the USS ABRAHAM LINCOLN. The men and women aboard the nuclear-powered carrier accomplished their mission and stayed out for a record time -- 290 days. It was a very long cruise for them.
The banner was ordered by the Navy, not the White House.
