Is it ok to call the Tea Party members "teabaggers" because a few uninformed people (Limbaugh, Pelosi)

used the term when the group was first gaining momentum? It's pretty clear that people on the left including many here like to use the term because they know it disparages tea party members which is their main goal.
My question is does a few people using a derogatory term justify using that term for all members of a group?
How is it deragatory? Didn't the Tea Party name itself after the Boston Tea Party as in defiance of Government Tyranny?
Now if you are referring to the homosexual slang term of "tea bagging" well the onus is on you since you should have researched that term beforehand!

Personally I'd like to see political discussions (or ANY discussions for that matter) minus the slagging off at either side with inflammatory names and derogatory terms, but that's just me...........YMMV
