The civil rights movement and the legislation it led to were supposed to bring them out of "poverty, crime, violence and substance abuse". Instead, for many it only exacerbated the problem and made it easier to remain there.
What did the Democrats expect with a welfare system that rewarded you if you were an unmarried woman with a kid, and paid you more for each bastard child you produced, and would keep paying forever, and ever, and ever.....

The problem now is that unemployment is so bad that jail is a risk that many people are willing to take. There are too many people who think that crime pays, and nothing else does
Look at Leroy & Jerome: No jobs, no money, no fame. they are always strglling, etc.
If kids can't be like Mike then Snoop Dogg or 50 cent is the next best thing. Most teenagers don't think that school is going to help them succeed in life, so they join a gang instead.
Whites have problems too, but they are not as widespread.
I think it's pretty clear in this country that working crappy jobs for minimum wage does not pay.

Republicans in Ann Arbor blocked a Salvation Army proposal to operate a rooming house for men who work downtown but could not otherwise afford to live in town.
If this is so, how then do we explain the huge popularity that Herman Cain enjoyed? At one time he was leading the Republican polls. Lest we forget so soon, it was the far left that slandered and sabotaged his campaign, not the right.
Republicans are not racist, they are classist. Don't subsidize the working poor, tax them.
Minimum wage laws have nothing to do with black male teens being unemployed. Those black teens aren't going to work for deflated wages. If you are a low-skilled and uneducated worker, the recession is going to hit you harder than it hits an high school graduate who has proficient communication skills. But just for the heck of it, what are the voting patterns of upper middle class blacks in places like metro-DC, Houston, and Atlanta?
What do you think caused the recession to worsen?
When the Democrats took over Congress during Bush's administration, they forced through a minimum wage increase in a bill for Military funding, that increased the minimum wage 3 times.
They ignored data from fannie mae and freddie mac, that indicated a housing problem cause by forcing loans to people who couldn't afford them so they could buy a house. (Anyone remember Barney Frank's comment?).

Once these Minimum wage increases took effect, employment dropped, prices went up, people started losing everything left and right, and as they started losing everything, the recession worsened, more houses lost, more unemployment, less money being spent, more jobs lost.
Want to go what exacerbated this recession, look no further than the minimum wage increased forced through by Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid, to "Help out all those making minimum wage".
Yeah they helped em, right out of a job, to unemployment, food stamps and welfare.

Over the past few weeks we have begun to see the ultimate unraveling of support for the president, with women and youth fleeing from his side. But what is even more surprising and perhaps unimaginable to the president and his faithful media cult is that he is now also losing members of his normally deemed "untouchable" base of support—poor, inner-city black Americans.
I wondered how long it would take before a discussion about black conservatives would refer to black liberals as ignorant slaves.
Conservatives have their untouchable base also its the Anti-black wing of the Republican Party. If Black conservatives really had hair on their chest they would make their party face that issue head on before they talked about how submissive liberal blacks are. Black conservatives let Black liberal activist take on anti-black sentiment every where while they sneak out the back door and reap the benefits of change.
