LOL... ... When you vote Republican... You are about to get shafted by the party you're supporting... Unless however... If you make more than $363,000... You'll get all the tax cuts you want... You'll be fine...

read what i said again, i said the housing bubble STARTED, in the late 90s. that was when sub prime mortgages really started taking off. bubbles dont start off big and get bigger, they start off small.

bush tried several times to rein in the sub prime lending markets, but the democrats blocked him every step of the way. and it was people like barney frank, chris dodd, and barack obama among others.

Exactly. (See my link above).

The dems and thier mandating home loans to unqualified borrowers through Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac was the main cause of the financial meltdown. The dems (even though they caused the problem) have blamed Bush. Ironically, Bush was the only president that tried to stop it, but was derailed by the democrats. These same democrats turned around and blamed him for the crisis they prevented him from stopping!!!!!!

When, in the history of our nation, has liberal policy ever been good for the fiscal health of the nation? Get the children out of government and let the adults take control.

Uh... and now the TRUTH...

Bush drive for home ownership fueled housing bubble

From his earliest days in office, Bush paired his belief that Americans do best when they own their own homes with his conviction that markets do best when left alone. Bush pushed hard to expand home ownership, especially among minority groups, an initiative that dovetailed with both his ambition to expand Republican appeal and the business interests of some of his biggest donors. But his housing policies and hands-off approach to regulation encouraged lax lending standards.

Bush did foresee the danger posed by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, the government-sponsored mortgage finance giants. The president spent years pushing a recalcitrant Congress to toughen regulation of the companies, but was unwilling to compromise when his former Treasury secretary wanted to cut a deal. And the regulator Bush chose to oversee them - an old school buddy - pronounced the companies sound even as they headed toward insolvency.

I know for certain the repubs don't care about blacks and gays when they constantly make their opinions know without shame. The repubs will always wonder how they can attract more blacks to the party but having people dress up as slaves and singing "Obama the magic negro" won't help. How any gay or black person can vote for that is beyond me.

or the real truth

Giving Credit Where Credit Was Denied

And it is also a shift that, by definition, is fraught with increased risk. Studies indicate that the move toward what the industry refers to as ''subprime'' lending leads, not surprisingly, to a degree of increased delinquency. Part of this additional risk is offset by having subprime borrowers pay somewhat higher mortgage rates.

''We've created new products for people who have glitches, hairy credit,'' said Abe Eisner, executive vice president of GFI. ''No-doc means all we need is your name, address and Social Security number, depending on your credit history.''

GFI is a barometer for the industry; its subprime lending currently represents about 25 percent of the company's business. Two years ago, it was 10 percent

the subprime problen/bubble was OPENED in 1995..expanded in 1997, expanded again in 1999, and 2000...and finally exploded by 2005-7

it started under clinton

Wrong again. This is based on actual policy proposals and votes in the legislature- not liberal conjecture. Ironically, this is from the NYT as well, which is about as far left as any publication can get.

NYT 2003 – Bush tried to stop mortgage crisis « Elect Jeff

1. Who started the mandated elimination of "red lining" and loans to unqualified borrowers? The dems

2. Who tried to stop it? Bush

3. Who prevented Bush from stopping it? the dems

4. Who recieved hundreds of thousands of dollars in campaign contributions from Fannie and Freddie? Chris Dodd and Barney Frank

The liberal history in the housing meltdown is not pretty, that is why the liberals try to forget it and revise history. Let's not "give them the keys" again.

first the republican party does NOT have people dress up like slaves.
second the phrase is barack the magic negro, and it was coined by a liberal columnist in the very liberal LA times. here is a link to the article in question;

`Magic Negro' returns - Los Angeles Times

third, the song that was written by paul shanklin was not about obama, but rather about al sharpton.

there are plenty of black republicans, some of whom are running for office. the problem is that liberals will not open their own eyes and see these people, and accept them.

there are times you start to actually get it, and then there is now. despite your hatred for bush, he really did try to rein in the sub prime mortgage markets, but it was the DEMOCRATS IN CONGRESS that blocked his efforts.
