Why is it 90 degrees in the mine? I thought it was cool underground.

Lack of air. Depth. This mine is really deep. And while it may be cooler at certain depths once one gets deep enough things get hotter as one approaches the core of the earth. Not to mention this mine is in a desert.

I'm sure that to the Chileans, this is their "lunar landing". Personally, watching CNN broadcasting live video of both the topside and the inner-earth,
cavern space, the would be tomb that contained those courageous miners, I was brought back in memory to the moon landing and what a source of
national pride I felt, that we Americans had reached the pinnacle of technical accomplishment, we had won the space race. Tonight, I also feel a sense
of pride, for my fellow man. For me, this tribulation that these 33 men have endured to the point of triumph, has been about how these men were able
to keep their sanity, in the dark, in a crowd yet still alone, trapped so far below the surface and short on hope, they all became of one mind and spirit,
pooled their faith in their fellow men above and put their lives into God's hands.

What a comfort it is to see this positive occurrence and to have this event overshadow the usual daily media bummers
, the murders, kidnappings,
wars, oil disasters, political scandals, Jersey Shore, stock market indexes, terrorist warnings and the whole gamut of downhead news that often seems
to leave us feeling more ashamed of our species, than proud of them. I'm going to eagerly await the movie and I'm also willing to bet that production has
already started. My biggest apprehension will be, that when the movie is released, it'll be by Rob Zombie or Wes Craven and those 33 valiant men will be
portrayed as Cannibalistic, Human, Underground Dwellers (CHUD), and in an industry hungry for fantastic box-office returns, will be painted and portrayed
as monsters who turn upon one another in a mega spectacle focused upon sensationalistic dehumanization. God (has) truly blessed them.

I am sure he is watching the Chilean president and getting green with envy. His WH men didn't get the media attention when the well was capped but Obama could not stand with the men who capped it when he made villains out of them. All about the evil of America and nothing about the greatness. No wonder he is going down in flames.

This is about the story, can you imagine the Chilean president being able to stand with those men if he had been kicking them in the butt for causing the accident the last 2 months? Big lesson for our president.

Let's see: CNN. Abc, CBS, fox, BBC, ap, and et al have spent MILLONS of dollars, covering this "story." those millions of dollars could have saved how many mortgages? Put how much food on the table? Isn't that what you liberals whine about? Money spent for stupid things? The issue is saving the men, Not having 24 hr, million dollar coverage on it.

As I said: What a waste of money. That money would have been better off running stories on homeless in America, americans without jobs, etc. Not spent in Chile.

The human spirit could use a good lift (no pun intended) right now so sit back and enjoy the moment instead of the grumbling. You too Janelle. Obama has nothing to do with this and you know it.

But he wishes he did. LOL

The news channels will make big money with this story, no need to worry about them plus they also report on the homeless, etc, etc, etc.
