NEWS Corp. dropped FOX channels from Cablevision today... I can't get NFC games as a result no NLCS... What am I supposed to do tomorrow?... Watch Sarah Palin's reality show instead?... Yeah... That's the ticket...

News Corp pulled Fox Broadcasting and other Fox & News Corp affiliated channels off Cablevision. Cablevision is one of the major cable providers in the NYC metro (NY, NJ & CT), its the largest provider here on Long Island ( I have Verizon Fios, so I'm not impacted). Cablevision is also a provider in the Philly area (though don't think they are that big there, but some are impacted)
The previous deal between News Corp and Cablevision expired. Cablevision previously paid News Corp $70 million to air their programming. News Corp is now demanding $150 million from Cablevision to air the same programming they were previously charging $70 million for.
Fox is a ratings blockbuster. They're in business to make money (imagine that!) and they're trying to maximize profits. What the hell is wrong with that?
If they want to offer this programming for their subscribers, they have to pay for it, a completely foreign concept to some liberals. No different than any other channels.
Sounds like Cablevision has had run-ins with several other networks over cost disputes too. Perhaps the problem is Cablevision just not wanting to pay up for programming.
Quote:
In March, Cablevision subscribers lost access to Walt Disney Co.’s ABC network and the start of the annual Oscars telecast before a deal was struck. The cable operator also lost the Food Network and HGTV for about two weeks before a deal was made and the channels restored.
Sorry Cablevision, but if you want to offer programming to your viewers, you do indeed have to pay for it.
Left wingers, always attacking people for making money.. To put the "fee" in perspective, Newscorp has 200,000,000 consumers a month. $150,000,000 is less than $1 per household..
It is always great to hear the left though, shouting for FOX..

Nothing wrong, but it will just be passed on to the viewer...
