– President Barack Obama said Americans’ “fear and frustration” is to blame for an intense midterm election cycle that threatens to derail the Democratic agenda.
Oh, I thought the reason Obama got elected was because people were fearlul and frustrated!

Belittling and ridiculing people is this man's calling card. 0bama's constant bullying, and the condescension he expresses for his fellow Americans is why so many people refer to him as a "man child". He behaves like a grade school bully.

That feeling of condescension that the right feels Obama is giving them is due to the fact that he is indeed smarter than they are. The fact that they actually believe he is talking down to them is why they are so stupid. I haven't for one second ever felt he was talking down to anyone.

He has an idea of what is good for this country just like all his predecessors. Bush thought war, torture, domestic spying, not including the cost of war in the annual budgets, going on vacation ten times a year, not testifying under oath to the 9/11 commission, keeping government locked in secrecy, etc, were all good things for this country. And in the right's eyes, he never talked down to them. Imagine that! All that permanent damage done to the country by a guy who never talked down to you!

Along comes Obama, admittedly more intelligent and elected by a majority of the population in his first attempt. He has criticized his own party. I don't recall Bush ever saying anything "bad" about his elitist Republican comrades. His statements are remarkably centrist, he has found fault with all parties involved in government, including the citizens of this great country who MUST out of sheer logic accept some of the responsibility for the country's predicaments.

He has said things that the right disagrees with and, instead of refuting his statements, the right invents this condescension response. Here, yet again, the right/Republicans are the party of NO, as in "We're not going to be nice or constructive, we're going to win this war being waged against us even if we have to fabricate mountains out of mole hills".

What motivates the right except fear and frustration? How is Obama's statement on this subject false, misleading, or even condescending? Don't confuse "love of country" with anything you people claim you are doing, for your us vs. them thinking has proven itself to be destructive time and again throughout history.

One final thought: Why don't I do what the right does in so many other instances and simply say that because the source of this information is from RedState, it is invalid. C'mon, you guys do it every time! If it's from Rolling Stone, Huffington Post, New York Times, or any media source you don't like, you declare it laughably inaccurate, then close up shop, wipe your hands, and walk away. Sound familiar? Look in the mirror. The problem isn't only Obama. It's also you and your side's lack of constructive responses. Is this condescending or is it the truth?

The article that was linked to this thread has a very good explanation at the bottom that pretty well sums up the attitude of this elistest president, "He is like the child who covers his ears, closes his eyes, and chants “I CAN’T HEAR YOU… I CAN’T HEAR YOU!!” He has made a "career" out of ignoring anyone who disagrees with him. He refuses to even listen to members of his own party when they try to tell him that an objective or opinion will not be well-recieved by the majority of American and when a Republican/conservative says anything it is immediately dismissed as totally without merit, before he even knows what's been said. He has a very imperious attitude that only his own thoughts, beliefs, utterances and opinions have any validity at all which to my mind seems to fly in the face of the idea that a president should "preside" over all Americans, not just the ones who agree with him.
