They'll do just fine. Stronger currency, richer Chinese citizens.

They did that to fight off inflation. Their economy is growing so fast taht inflation is a big concern. The central government of China doesn't make policy moves to make its citizens richer. It's only concern is keeping dissent low so as to avoid a counter-revolution. Maintianing power is the name of the game.

Growing economy in China does not cause inflation. Most of the inflation is imported from the US. As you may or may now now, countries, especially countries in Asia is giving up the currency war. We, the US government had won the currency war. We debase it the most and will continue to debasing it. Our dollar is trash. Ben Benanke said we need more inflation, so be it. Soon, it will be cheaper to whip your a$$ with a dollar bill than with toilet tissue.

On the upside, it may be a great time for me to pay off my mortgage and student loans in one fell swoop, I say let's do it, lol

Time to start investing in the Renminbi. The USD has lost its allure as a safe investment.

The real reason China is hiking rates is to prevent a bubble from forming... something the good ole USA did not do....
