The "sexification" of hormonal teenagers, oh my!

"Sports" are supposed to be, yes. However, the NFL is not "sports" in the traditional sense, it is a multi-million dollar production each and every game. It is a production played by convicted felons and cheerleaders doing "dance" routines that should have parents of young children covering their children's eyes.

If you want you children to be exposed to "sports", stick with local sports and not the professional sports for the very young.

I absolutely agree with you, but one problem is, that so many of todays parents not all some, want their Children to be part of that POPULAR GROUP. And want them to do everything it is that they never did, some parents live their life thru thier children. What do any of us expect with the role models that are out there, some in the music industry do not help as a good role model. When we can reward our young teens for having babies without a Father, what do we expect. Or for driving drunk, or drinving while doing drugs, what is the message there, when the judge just slaps these people on the wrist. Not a lot of good role models out there today, we still have them out there, but there are so many, that these young girls look upon for a role model, and they are not a good role model at all or setting a good example for our young girls.

Really? You think that 11 yr. olds are "hormonal"? In most cases they are still pre-pubescent. How about the remainder of the squad which appeard to be 6-8 yrs, in age? Are they also "hormonal"?

Popularity and going too far out of their way to be their childs best friend. Your best friend is the one who tells you the truth no matter how much it hurts or makes you look horrible. Generally speaking in our culture grown adults can't handle constructive criticism and it's secondary repercussion hampers the ability of children to mature because the adults in their lives refuse to grow up themselves.

Disney changed to something ick when corporate paradigms overrode it's own bylaws for market share. There were standards and now there are standards of appearances in name only. Whatever market share anyone means to speak of, when it comes to children, there's a higher ethical standard that needs to be abided because they are forever a protected class in civilization. No excuses.

I've got nothing of importance to add other than to say, I'm whole heartedly with the majority of post, the pre-oversexualization of young girls is just inexcusable.

Most cases I think you're right but the onset of puberty has begun sooner over the years. Here's a link describing a study I read about not long ago. It's title is "Many Girls Now Begin Puberty at Age 7, 8" with a subtitle of "Rate of early onset has doubled for 7-year-old white girls, study finds" :

My daughter's a cheerleader. I don't know all her routines, but I've been to where she practices. I am not a religious person. Used to be, but ain't no more. Morals? Prudishness? If my daughter was shaking her ass, I'd have to wonder/question why.

Ass shaking to me is dancing to arouse. WTF is an 11 year old girl doing trying to arouse anyone? If my wife is shaking her ass, she's being cute .. and definitely something else, too. My 10 year old daughter? Aw, come the hell on.
