The NAACP gets more irrelevant by the day. Their leadership needs to be checked for insanity! Someone should ask Shirley Sherrod for her opinion on this.
I didn't think it was offensive. The property owner stated that he's put up the display in previous years without complaint, but the mask he used last year melted over the summer, so he put a new mask, a darker gray-toned mask on the figure. Since he dresses the hanged man as a cowboy, with a cowboy hat, it doesn't appear to me to have racial overtones. The city council may ask him to remove the display because they don't want to deal with complaints, but it IS his yard. I say keep it up!
I wonder if the descendants of the thousands of white "criminals" that were hanged before the turn of the century feel its reverse discrimination. I don't ever remember seeing a black man hanged in a western movie.
It appears as though ghouls and zombies have infiltrated our political system. Soon, they'll be a protected group with rights and privileges like driving, voting, or owning a gun. And when that happens, how are we supposed to keep the blood-thirsty, flesh-eating undead in check?
Wesker will not be amused when he hears of this. You mark my words.
Then I suggest the NAACP buy his land. I dont think the city or anyone else should be able to tell you what you can and cant do on your land that you pay for. Long as its not physically harming someone else.
Next they will be complaining about the type of candy he gives out on Halloween...
