I love it.

And do you know what the really cool part is? Making stuff.

I took some ground beef and made it look like rats with a pasta tail and pasta whiskers and peppercorns for eyes and carrot slices for ears and so it is like mini meatloaf crap. We hate meatloaf but, anyhoo I scared the bejeezes out of my kid. I have been doing crap like this since the beginning of October. Love it.

I think the largely commercialized Halloween is stupid. However, kids going out to get candy and dressing up for a day, whats not fun about that?

I know a lot of people get upset with it because its a celtic holiday, dealing with the devil and other bad things. But honestly, Christmas has roots in the same traditions as Halloween. Christians just changed the meanings of some of the winters solstice celebration to fit their religious needs.

But...but...it is also the Day of the DEAD. That is actually two days. The first day is for innocents.

The Navajo also have the day of the dead.

And its my freaking birthday. And I will be like 40.

It is a fun day for kids. I always give them Reeses Peanut Butter cups when they knock. Mine did it when they were little too. The only thing I don't like about it is that it signals really the start of winter. Six Flags closes at midnight on Halloween for the year and the clocks soon go back to winter time.

I love this idea! What a creative mom you are! Another good idea is to use grape drink (or mix orange juice and grape juice together to get a really ugly color) and put inside rubber gloves (make sure they are not the kind with powder inside, lol) and freeze them to make "hands" that you can float in a punch bowl.

In Michigan, there was snow on the ground the third year I was up there.

Freaked me out, I wasn't used to snow until November easy.
