Yep. Health Insurance was once a not for profit organization.

And, there was a time when employers were concerned about their employees and a good employee could expect to stay employed by one employer and even retire with benefits. Those days are long gone.

It's unfortunate that employers in America have become mercenary and that employers are finding ways to screw over good employees.
It's really unfortunate that it seems to be necessary for new rules in the workplace to protect employees from mistreatment by their employers.

And, again, there are tax benefits for the employers to offset the cost of the health insurance.

And, btw, the alternatives are?....

Nowhere is it written that the Supreme Court is the ultimate authority on the Constitution. James Madison said it is the U.S. Senate that was to decide on what is constitutional. (Before they vote on stuff).

And Congress can pass a law and put right in there that no federal court is allowed to rule on it. For example, Congress could pass a law today saying the abortion is illegal and no federal court can say different or hear any case in the future about abortion. Congress can also abolish federal courts.

If you are going to talk about the Constitution you should read the entire thing. Not just what you want to fit your communist agenda,

Sorry, but offering health care to employees was most definitely NOT started as a way for companies to attract better employees/candidates, but for the initiation of the preposterous attempt by an extremely dumb Democrat (FDR) to place a cap on the income (just like Obama) of this nation's workers, and thus allowing employers to offer 'free' health care as a stealth pay raise.

As we all know, it was a spectacular failure, and the bill which Obama signed will undoubtedly make costs explode for employers, so don't be surprised if many of our country's biggest employers choose to stop offering insurance coverage at all to their employees, and will be very content to pay the $2,000.00 fine.

The bill's creation of 100+ boards, commissions, agencies and other bureaucratic nonsense, together with the bloated government salaries, pension plans, and obscenely over-the-top benefits packages of said bureaucratics, will have to be paid for by somebody, which undoubtedly means that health care premiums and the costs of doing business will have to soar for everybody.

Yet another indefensibly asinine creation by Obama & the other members of the 'free lunch party'.

It's a very easy choice when this government and this hostile-to-business feels that they have the right (forget about the intelligence level, which they are totally bereft of) to dictate not only how much profit any given company can make, but also place a preposterous ceiling on the ability of this nation's workers to make as much money as they want to.

The Micromanager-in-chief convincingly proved with his asinine 'There comes a time when you've made enough money' remark that this country's workers should be restricted to making as much money as he thinks they should as opposed to what their levels of ambition should dictate, which is a slap to the face of every American worker.

We don't elect anybody to make those decisions for us; this illiterate elitist and his cronies from the UAW, Big Pharma, Wall Street & elsewhere should know better.

Actually, if employers choose to pay the fine rather than provide health insurance, it's because they've done a cost/benefit analysis, and concluded that's it's more economically feasible to do so. The bottom line for any company is THE BOTTOM LINE. Profits drive any company. And if they can maintain a qualified staff with lower costs, they will do so. That's free market.

Obamacare is nothing more than a huge incentive to drop coverage...higher costs for the employers, and the ability to dump employees into other plans. You want to blame the companies for doing something that may be in their best economic interests. Put the blame where it belongs..a debacle of 'healthcare' reform that doesn't even touch on the real costs of healthcare.

Lets forget that businesses are hostile to workers in our country... Businesses are in business to make money and if you don't like it there's a few 100 other unemployed people desparate for your job. If those workers don't like the way they're treated, the same goes for them. Your hard work and you as a person has no value to us anymore. It's all about the bottom line.

Let's deregulate some more and see if we can completely destroy what's left of our country's economy.

I don't intend to argue with you people.

Have a nice little greedy, free market life.

It does not say ANYWHERE in the constitution to provide HEALTHCARE.. In fact it says just the OPPOSITE.. To secure blessings of LIBERTY.. And it says the ALL POWERS NOT IN THE CONSTITUTION BELONG TO THE STATES..
I can't think of anything that does more to promote the "The General Welfare" than people having access to adepquate healtcare.
