Why sure. I am a police officer, as I have openly stated at least TWENTY times. I also work quite alot of overtime, not just in a patrol fashion, however also as a dispatcher. Last night was sick call and I was called into the dispatch center.
This consisted of me, and 4 women. There is ONE television and FOUR women. The women wanted to watch The World Series; ergo, I was FORCED to watch it.
To be fair, I glanced up from time to time. You see, I had to keep sending fire engines and ambulances out, to the morons who were drinking and screaming, "Go Giants," as they were beating up their wives/girlfriends. Yes, this happened 3 times in the short time the series was on. The other times I was reading a book on George Washington. It is quite interesting.

So you weren't forced to watch at all really. Nor were you forced to do much work while being paid by citizens tax dollars it sounds like since you had time to read.

Wow Phil, you are putting on a clinic of idiocy here. But I agree, sports are waaay too prominent in America. But as a cop, imagine your work schedule if there were no sports. Crime would be thru the roof, men (espcially young men) desperately need an outlet for their natural aggression.
And no, I don't like to pay fat men, whether baseball players or cops, why do yall look like you couldn't run 100 yards?

Anytime you want to run a 100 yards or a half marathon with me, let me know.
Of course, all of this is nothing but a personal attack on me and doesn't address any of the issues I have brought up.

You have no clue how much work I do. How many lives of persons did you save yesterday? Real lives? I saved 4. Real, breathing, living people. I saved 4; and that was in one day.
Again, attack me all you want, doesn't change anything: Liberals supported the mass corporations, who pay little to the working man and pocket the rest, and allowed all of this to be seen by the evil Fox News Network. That is the point of this thread.
Bottom line: MONEY rules all. Doesn't matter what political party you belong too. Liberals lie, cheat, and steal to say it doesn't; it does. The liberal team from the most liberal city in the country, sold its soul to the "devil." Fox News.
First off, I shall be BLUNT: I think professional sports is a waste of time and money, which could be better off used in many other facets of quality of life issues. However, saying that, I was forced to watch part of the World Series last night. Of course, its being held in San Francisco (or was) and MILLIONS of dollars was spent (read wasted) on this sporting event. Just based on geography alone, the vast majority of persons attending this event are liberal democrats and/or the left leaning of society. They spent hundreds, if not thousands each for the "privledge" to be there.
San Francisco holds itself up to be, an icon of liberalism and tolerance. The "socialist" capital of the USA. Where, "peace, love, and understanding" was firmly rooted in American Society. Shoot, they've even banned plastic shopping bags there.
As I was watching the 30 second television ads, which had to cost MILLIONS of dollars, it struck me: These liberals are paying into the corporate greed, which they rally against and fight against.
MOREOVER, it was beamed around the world by none other then: FOX NEWS.
You're really reaching now...stop it already....you should be embarrassed by this dumb thread.
San Fran, baseball, liberalism, tolerance, corporate greed, FOX...this is giving me a headache.
Oh I feel the same way right now. Make no I feel professional sports should be BANNED. BILLIONS of dollars are wasted on professional sports, which could be used for healthcare, roads, more jobs, etc.
I'm not a sports fan, but even I will admit that the existence of professional sports creates hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of jobs, which span all ranges of the pay scale.
Make no illusions and look at my first statement: I feel professional sports should be BANNED. BILLIONS of dollars are wasted on professional sports, which could be used for healthcare, roads, more jobs, etc.
Oh! This is even MORE rich!
Here you are, a real, right-leaning, true conservative and you're espousing the very same kind of do-gooder, I-know-best-for-everyone, here-let-me-help-you-decide-how-to-spend-your-own-money, liberal, intrusive, nanny-state actions that even Barack Obama wouldn't support!
This is just classic Neo-Conservatism! Claim the name, but act like the farthest left-leaning, radical big-government liberal you can think of.

It was broadcast by Fox Sports not Fox News...Besides I'm fairly liberal, most of my friends and a number of my family members are liberal---and we've all been watching the Fox network since the days of Married With Children--and the Simpsons have been a favorite for over 20 years. And we all watch Fox News too--it's good for a laugh, and I actually enjoy Bill O'Reilly as a broadcaster.
All Bay Area liberals are against capitalism? The Bay Area is one of the most economically dynamic parts of the country--you've got more established high tech firms than anywhere, along with more recent startups, and San Francisco is a regional banking and finance center...I mean you should realize that, you're from the region...
Your whining about professional sports and further stating that you think they could be banned sounds about as bad as the most humorless far-left liberals.
All in all though, thanks for the laughs copper...
