Ten years from now after the War with Iran has finally ended........ what happened? How did it go and are we better off as a result?

We'd be saying the same thing about Iraq now... "we should've never gone there in the first place, Iran kicked our butts"

There won't be a war with Iran. The American people don't want one, and there is no reason for one.

If however Bush was insanely stupid enough to invade Iran we would win the war in about two or three weeks at the most, as long as we properly prepared and got all the equipment in place first. Iran's military is no match for ours. We would own the skies in a matter of days destroying their entire air force, then we would bomb everything else that even remotely resembles a military target. The war would be won before one marine stepped a boot on Iranian soil.

The occupation would last years though, and we would lose thousands and thousands of American lives before someone in power here wised up and pulled us out. In addition, all our allies would turn on us for jacking the price of oil up to over a hundred dollars a barrel. Plus we would make Russia extremely wealthy as they pump and pump the more expensive crude into Europe.

In the end, if we invade Iran, we bring back thousands of more troops in body bags. The price of oil goes through the roof. Russia becomes an even greater power because of the oil revenue and all of the military equipment it will purchase. China will benefit because they will finance the war for us. And whatever allies we have left in Europe will turn on us.

I would have to think if we can't win in Iraq then Iran would kick our ass, Iran and all the surrounding countries would rush into Iraq and wipe out or military within weeks, the United States would be forced to retreat, we have forgotten how you fight a war, you cannot tie the hands of your military with rules of engagment, you have to kill a lot of people to win and some innocent people will die to and you can't dwell on that or worry what the world thinks.

Agreed with hawkeye. There won't be support for a war with iran. However, Iran has the population 4 times larger than Iraq and it's mountainous terrain gives them tactical advantage.

just because the american people dont want war with iran doesnt mean its not going to happen since when did the idiot in the white house start to care what us americans think? and if we did attack iran i would hope they would send rockets towards israel and then completely destroy whats left of the armed forces of america let them feel what its like to feel defeat the government of the usa has been sticking there noses in other countries buisness way to long, of course if israel is threatened the usa is there to protect them but i dont seem the usa helping the white farmers in rhodesia getting massacred by that filthy communist mugabe...so it seems when israhells ass is on the line we bow down but not when its white people getting massacred we dont even here about that in the news...

Man power, where do we get the servicemen? You can’t have a war without them, and we haven’t been able to solve any war with less manpower then we needed. How many servicemen do we put in harms way on this way? How many in Iraq will be needed before it’s finished? We had over 55,000 KILLED in Vietnam – so what’s the number needed here?
