Memphis, That isn't true. You can go to any ER on a Saturday night and find people with no ins getting treated. They will be billed, just like me. I paid mine and am not responcible for others.

I had phneumonia, and for that it cost me 1,600 bucks. I told them what was wrong, they did every other test known to man and some 11 hours later i left. The meds didn't work so I made an appt with a outcare, went there got more meds that worked and paid that bill at 80 bucks.

They don't turn people away in the USA.

Even without an expanded base it is apparent that doctors are dissatisfied with socialist Medicaid as it does not pay them enough and limits their treatment options. The only way to improve the lot of Medicaid patients (like your son) is to increase Medicaid funding, increase taxes, pay doctors more, and build more infrastructure.

Starting Nov 1 my insurance has adopted the mandate in the bill.; My insurance has gone up 10%. The real kicker tho is the huge rise in co-=pays;deductable'maxiumum oput of po0acket and drug co-pays caused by the mandates, That is wit teh company paying a eqaul amount of the rise too which is huge in total. Some compoanies are doing it now because of a gramfather clause i trhe bill and others have decided not too adopt them. The majopr hiot will be for new hires as the terms of compoany emplyemnt have changed for them;if they retire before medicare age they can still stay in the pool but the entire cost is theirs.Present retirees and those employed will get 50% as stated when they hired in.all will be assured by a trust being setup by the company that is fully funded. Thgis is so it will not show as a unfunded liability when they borrow money etc.

If you are so poor that you cannot afford a $600 penalty and an annual checkup then how can you afford any major medical needs that the annual checkup may reveal? Who will pick up your tab if you need major medical attention?

If he is that poor there are other ways to get a bill paid. One way is the Johnson Act. Tax payers pay that bill one way or another if one is too poor to pay.

A lot of ER services will accept a dollar a month. In the USA it is almost impossible to have anything really bad happen if you can't pay.

But that ER can really rack up the costs too, they should cut back on that. When I was in for phneumonia they did blood work I didn't need or want, the did heart testing I didn't need or want, they took more x-rays than I thought were prudent. I was born with this so I know a lot about it.

What i did was no go to the doctors for 2.5 years with it and worked until I dropped.

That lesson was go make an appt first and see a regular doc. That's a lot cheaper.

And who pays for that? I do through a backdoor payment plan, and through tax breaks.

We already have socialized healthcare, thanks to the great Ronald Reagan, its just not paid for.

Instead, we have a system in place where hospitals charge more, or do needless procedures on me to get some extra money from my insurance company to make up for the uninsured at the ER. That, and hospitals get huge write offs on their taxes because the federal government gives them tax cuts for the money they lose.

Instead of the backdoor system thats in place now, I purpose an up front system where those who can't afford insurance get a certain standard thats paid for up front.

This is how much we spend on care for the uninsured, period.

If it costs more, then we'll raise taxes to meet that, or, we'll cancel it and those who can't afford healthcare, won't get it.

And what percentage of doctors belong to the AMA? 17%.

Even less than the 20% of Americans (1 in 5) who are liberals.

So much for thinking for yourself.

Right so the OP offers up the ramblings on one single right wing kook doctor as her argument.

I just countered with an organization that represents thousands of doctors if that matters?

I don't base my decision on what one kooky doctor says or what the AMA says.

I weigh all the evidence and that clearly shows the health care bill was a small step in the right direction.

It's the right wing voters who can't think for themselves. That's why the post the ramblings of kooks as evidence against the health care bill. This video matters to them....LOL
