It's getting pretty clear that liberals are not about helping those in need. We are already doing that. We've even begun helping those who are not so needy.
Liberals today are driven by power. (They don't want to improve things, but to control things.)
Fiscal liberals I agree with you. They want the numbers of people in need up to support the paper work. IE the more people in need of welfare the more arguments for it. Funny how a statistic can be used or misused.

All governments are "driven by power." The difference between liberals and other political tendencies is defined by what they wish to do with that power.
While my own tendencies lean toward the more libertarian side, if the choice on offer is spending money on public roads, education and health care, or spending money dropping bombs all over creation--for reasons nobody can explain in any plausible way-- I have to prefer the liberal approach.

What's to think about? You haven't offered a shred of evidence.
"Liberals" just covered Millions of more poor families with the new health care bill.
"Liberals" passed and increase to the minimum wage.
"Liberals" just ensured that insurance companies cannot turn you away for pre-existing conditions.
"liberals" have vowed not to let Social Security benefits be cut.
All this in the face of right wing opposition.
Your statement is ludicrous that "liberals" are not about helping those in need.

Yeah, I think your comment is completely unfounded, hollow, and devoid of even the semblance of an argument.

The Libertarian choice is not confiscating the money from taxpayers for EITHER senseless wars or redistributing wealth away from those who earned it--but leaving it to be spent in the economy on goods and services that benefit both buyer and seller.

'We' are "already doing that"?
Just who/what is this mythical 'We' you refer to?
You count the Liberals out and it's certainly not the Republicans so just who is this mythical 'We'?
