this is unfortunately correct. we have tried spending huge amounts on money since the 60s, and poverty has only grown since then. we have tried cutting the size of government, but that hasnt worked. the problem isnt a lack of money being spent. poverty will always be with the world until there is a complete change in the way society works.

It does not matter how many jobs stay here or go to china. we are talking about solutions for poverty.

Most people in poverty didn't finish high school. They can't speak to be understood. Hence, they are un-employable. A million jobs offered tomorrow wouldn't help them.

I disagree. Productive labor is not limited to one's credentials or general education. Many years ago, I was acquainted with a young man, who was generally ridiculed by his peers as a "dummy". But he had a trap line in the mountains, and was making hundreds of dollar bills / week when a "good job" earned $50 / week. Perhaps, in the 18th century, he'd be hailed as a genius.

The real reason for poverty (and lack of jobs) is the money token system in place, and the stranglehold of usurers and socialists upon the neck of the body politic.

Unfortunately, no legislation will change that system.

1. Finish high school
2. Don't have a baby out of wedlock or before you are 21.
3. Pick your friends carefully.
4. Work hard.

We do have a system that is somewhere in between. There are resources for the poor. The solution lies with each individual.

Its not extreme to expect people to go out and earn money to pay for things they want..

Think about your posting and maybe you can find error in what you said..

Talking about solutions for poverty, and you dont think the solution = jobs?

How many are on welfare now, losing their homes, unable to pay their bills because they dont have a job..

There is no poverty in America. You can't be impoverished sitting around texting on your cell phone while watching cable TV.
