The difference is Texas spending 18.51% of the state GDP where California 24.82%.

If they are both creating the same deficits and one is spending less than the other, then its a matter of lack of income.. (i.e. recession)..

If one is spending more and creating less deficits, then its a matter of economic stimulation.

If one is spending more and creating more deficits, then its a matter of over spending.. (i.e. federal government)

Texas is in a far better position because California is saddled with 1/2 a TRILLION in pension obligations while Texas liabilities are around $150B..

They arent even close to one another..

Dodge your point??? What point is that? Texas is just plain better for business, pure and simple....Our BD will be addressed in January, when will California's? Typical Texas response? Yeah, we're #1 for business in the nation and California is NOT.....

Unemployment rate:
12.4% California
8.1% Texas

Civilian Labor Force (Sept 2009 - Sept 2010):
+59,000 California
+150,000 Texas

State and Local Tax Burden:
$5,028 per capita California
$3,580 per capita Texas

Texas deficit is getting bigger (mainly due to declining sales tax revenue) - but note that Texas writes a 2 year budget - so that $18 million may be over 2 years.

This clearly shows that liberalism is a mental disorder.

Look at the unemployment rates and job creation. I know, to a liberal, the only thing that really matter is marijuana and gay marriage. However, average Americans more concerned with feeding thier families and being employed than they are with gay marriage and pot.

That is the difference between Texas and California. Go Texas!

Texas did better in job creation in some areas, however, Laredo, the Valley and Corpus have been struggling for a long time.

And to conservatives, the only thing that really matters is twisting the truth around.

All states have troubled areas that struggle.. We arent discussing troubled areas, we are discussing states and their deficits..
