Spending cuts, what spending cuts?

"House Republican leader John Boehner addressed the issue Thursday night during an interview with Fox News, stating that he approved of a temporary moratorium on congressional earmarks but would not pursue a complete ban.
...
Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (Ky.) was similarly dismissive of the idea..."You can eliminate every congressional earmark and you would save no money.""

The pigs are still feeding. Anyone who actually thought the GOP would be different was a fool. They'll just keep doing what they've always down.

Finally, some rationality here. They are absolutely right; banning earmarks wouldn't even make a dent in the deficit. I'll take them seriously when they talk about tax increases, entitlement spending overhaul, and reducing defense spending to seriously tackle the deficit, but I know I'll be waiting forever for that.

Of course they wouldn't, but they do make great campaign fodder, don't they?

Lily !!
Everything we have heard leading up to the mid term election has been a smoke screen! It's the budget, it's the economy, it lack of jobs, it's the bailouts, it's the, it's the.....

Now we know the right's real agenda and objective, oust Obama.

So, repubs are not concerned about jobs, the economy, or putting America First.
We can look foreward to more obstruction, and for the right to be locking horns with their tea party.

Fat chance. They can't even tackle earmarks, let alone actual big problems. I don't think banning earmarks should be the answer. We simply need a public web site showing everyone where money the money is going and what it is being used on.

We need more sunlight.
