Reading The Omnivore's Dilemma is even more scary, and more in depth.

Haven't read that one yet, but have read his In Defense of Food

(fast food isn't really F-O-O-D, we know that lol)

My kid thought she was damned lucky to get fast food once a week

How about the liberals **** off and let people eat whatever it is that they please? If they want to eat tofu, and rice and beans, that's fine. If they want to eat a Double Bacon Cheeseburger with extra cheese, large fries, and a large coke from McDonald's then that's fine also.

Eating is an individual choice and something that should be left up to the individual. Not the annoying liberals who want to overregulate everything in the name of absolute power.

Where does it say anywhere in the SF ordinance that you can't anything you want? If you want to eat a lard covered, deep fried, salt encrusted 3 month old Twinkie.... go ahead! No problem.

But, SF doesn't want advertising that encourages the consumption of a meal that is unhealthy solely for the reason of profit.

Eat what you want!

But please don't offer rewards for eating junk only because you want to make a buck.

Great point. Although I would wager that the cheap plastic toy has more nutritional value than the 'happy' meal itself!

I haven't read In Defense of Food yet, but am planning on it.
As soon as I finish Ominvore's Dilemma. Problem for me is that the giant web of information in his book is so encompassing and depressing that I can only read it in short bursts or I would go mad.

Agreed. If I thought TOO hard about the food we eat, I'd starve LOL
