MSNBC doesn't proclaim to be "fair and balanced" in their tagline, so that's not a good comparison.

No need. Scientific polls corroborate our poll here on City-Data.

Fox News Viewed as Most Ideological Network: Summary of Findings - Pew Research Center for the People & the Press

Yes, their ratings are high, but that's because conservatives see Fox News as the only trustworthy news source. Unless you believe that only conservatives can judge which networks are the most fair and balanced, that fact alone is strong evidence that Fox News is conservatively biased.

The point is that most Americans don't see Fox News as fair and balanced. That says it all.

A further point (according to your study) is that most Americans don't see ANY of the cable news as fair and balanced. NOW it says it all.

Voted an arm of the Republican Party....

And more generally, an outlet for Rupert Murdock to spew his corporatist right-wing agenda in general...

But more Americans do say that Fox is the most biased out of all of them. This is according to polls by Pew and even Rasmussen.

Fox and MSNBC are not mirror images of each other. Fox is both overtly and covertly more biased. The fact that they have no rules against their hosts making political donations makes it very clear.

You are correct in what you said, but the only major (in fact ONLY) network I know of that is even remotely conservative in nature. MSNBC, the old school t.v. networks (CBS, etc.), to a lesser extent, CNN, and to a greater extent (and partially paid for by taxpayer money) NPR are liberal, and in NPR case, damn near as overtly biased as FOX is. Actually, I would really like to see a network, admittedly probably boring as hell, that simply reports the news, not left- or right- (or any) spin to it, simply reporting news, kinda like C-SPAN does, but only comprehensive news itself, not the speeches and talk show and debate b.s., simply boring as hell straight non-propagandized news.

It was Fox was it not, who in 2003 faught for it's right, under the first amendment, to deliberately distort news reports on the public airways.

In other words they had won the right to lie to, and mislead it's viewers, yet, we have CD posters quoting so called FACTS from Fox news.

Why on earth would anyone want to watch a news channel that admits in court that it lies to it's viewers?

Surely people can't be that stupid, can they?
