Like what happened with Bush, you'll probably get a few on the far right who try to get a vote to impeach him to happen. The vote won't take place (unless Obama really does do something impeachable). Does that count as the GOP trying to impeach Obama? I'd say not really.

And what does it mean that this poll has both "maybe" and "I don't know" options?

I have explained this impeachment one other time in this thread and you seem to have missed it. The Constitution sets out the way it works and you really don't seem to know anything but the dirty word, impeachment.

It is a very simple procedure and won't work this time around as it never has any other time. The House does the impeaching by accusing of a crime and then voting to impeach. That is impeachment but the process has to involve the removal from office. The Senate has to sit as a body and vote to remove.

Well, now, the Republican controlled Senate in Clinton's case failed to vote to remove him within a year of the end of his last term. Very intelligent move by them because removing the President would have to be embarrassing for the US among the other countries of the world.

There will be no impeachment of Obama provided he moves a bit to the center and allows something better to happen. He will not move to the center so we will have to be afraid that some idiots may get something like this started. What kind of a crime would he have to commit for the Republicans in the House to do something like that when the Dems have a majority in the Senate? I just can't imagine anything that terrible although Obama has already indicated that he doesn't intend to try to work with the GOP in the House. He will cause some of the worst gridlock this country has ever seen at a time when we can least afford that to happen. That would be enough for me to go along with his removal but then just look at what we would be stuck with. Joe Biden????

With Obama being so close to Bush 2.5, there's no chance they will follow through on the rage they used in this election cycle. To do so would insure the death of any Republican victory in 2012. It would also show that the Republicans cannot unify the country. Of course, we already know they can't, but they would be wise to not drive that reality home.

Obama could kill babies in the street and the Senate would not convict him so no impeachment

It just ain't happening.
actually clinton WAS impeached, just not convicted in the senate.

It boggles my mind as to how someone as intelligent as Barack Obama could allow himself to be put into such a situation. The mid term elections were the Democrats to lose, and that's eactly what they did; not through miscalculation or underestimation, they simply did not put up much of a fight. It's crazy how they allowed the Republicans to gain the upper hand. Obama will have to be a modern day Cicero in order to outmanuever the republicans and survive impeachment and re-election.
the mid term elections were the republicans to win or lose, the people were upset at the agenda the democrats passed despite the public being against it. if you will notice, few if any democrats ran on the agenda they passed in the last two years, in fact most democrats ran away from health care, financial reform, etc. and with good reason, it was decidedly unpopular with the voting public. in fact the only thing that the democrats could do was attack republicans on personal issues rather than the issues facing the country.

right now obama would lose to a lot of possible republican candidates, but we shall see what happens in two years. if obama moves to the center, like clinton did in 1995, he will likely end up winning a second term. but if he and the democrats fight the republicans, and the republicans hold firm, then the democrats will be swept from office, and obama will be a one term president.

as for impeaching obama, there has to be evidence of a crime committed by obama, and to this point, there has been no crime. clinton was impeached because he lied under oath in a deposition. and even though kucinich offered up articles of impeachment against bush, there was no crime committed by bush that would warrant impeachment.

If the GOP decides to try investigations & impeachment instead of focusing on our economy it will be their own undoing.

They aren't that stupid are they?
