"Let's talk about waterboarding!" said Bush, with an eager, come-and-get-me arm gesture.
"Why is waterboarding legal?" asked Lauer.
"Because the lawyer said it's legal," Bush retorted.
"Would it be OK for a foreign country to waterboard an American?"
"All I ask is that people read the book," he replied, suggesting that maybe some kind of secret clause is hidden within its pages.
I think whatever needs to be done, should be done to protect this country. Thats all I have to say about that.

I am totally against torture of any kind. Its proven to give false intel, and most interrogation experts agree that it does not work.
That said, if its imminent that we are facing a nuclear threat, or a massive attack on the United States, I'm not beyond using whatever means possible.
Terrorist threats, to me, are not a national emergency like, lets say, knowing the hour of a Soviet missile attack on the United States from the 80's.
I am totally against torture of any kind. Its proven to give false intel, and most interrogation experts agree that it does not work.

I don't need a military attack on foreign soil to protect me from the big bad terrorist.
I stand more of a chance of a psycho breaking into my house and raping and killing me than I do from a terrorist attack.
