Obama made a speech in Indonesia citing them as a model of religious tolerance....

Maybe he should read their newspapers?

Predominantly Muslim Indonesia has been getting along fine with other religions for a long while now, and it's even built into the official philosophical foundation of the Indonesian state, "Pancasila". For example, the famous Indonesian island of Bali is almost totally Hindu, although it also has a substantial Christian and Muslim population (plus lots of multi-cultural tourists).

The problem has been arising from various "over-zealous" Fundamentalist "missionary" groups, that have become very active in some of the more heavily Muslim parts of the country in recent years, which has not surprisingly ticked off some of the locals. So it's actually as much a "cultural" issue as it is a religious one.

Heck, just look at all the fuss we have here over the building of an occasional mosque... and then imagine what that must be like someplace else where it's not just churches going up, but this "other" religion is also constantly putting up banners, distributing bibles and flyers, propagandizing all the time "in your face" (and at your kids), and just very aggressively & relentlessly "recruiting" wherever you look! Yeah, after awhile that would probably tend to pi$$ me off too!!

Interesting...it seems some seem to think it is the fault of the victims of the religious intolerance in Indonesia....

Silly Christian schoolgirls, they obviously forced their Muslim attackers to lop off their heads.
