So we are extending the timeline, that never really was a timeline in the first place. Will we extend it to 2017 in 2014?

I have a feeling we are going to be there for sometime. Can we at least have the political conservative nerve to put up the funding for debate, and how we actually pay for it without continuing going deeper into debt?

I have no doubt we will withdraw some troops next year, but it'll be like 6,000 troops. The rest will be there for another 4 years, at least.

Is this worth it? Should we back off and let things fall into chaos and just keep the borders secure?

What do y'all think?

Huge failure on the dems part not getting us out. I was counting on them. The repubs aren't going to pull their heads out on this issue anytime soon. Most republicans anyway

We'll be in Afghanistan until at least 2014

At least...

Just look at the base construction and contracts being given and it is obvious. Scan that thread and look at all the types of construction that is taking place and ask yourself, does this sound like the activity of a nation about to leave?

Not sure what will ever be accomplished in Afghanistan. Don't know why we are even there. Was it due to Al Queda training camps being there? If that is the reason, we better send US troops to some of the mosques in the US that are preaching fundamentalist Islam. They are just as effective in giving rise to jihadists.

Complete waste of lives and money that could be better spent here.
