Looking across the street, Mitchell and the group spot Gregory Reddick, a white fourteen-year old, walking home from a nearby pizza parlor. Mitchell reportedly turned to the group and remarked, "You all want to **** somebody up? There goes a white boy; go get him." Mitchell counted to three and then pointed left and right, signaling that they should encircle him. Ten of them then took off after Reddick, most running directly at him. One person in the group kicked Reddick, knocking him to the ground. Several attackers then surrounded Reddick. They kicked, punched, and stomped on him for over five minutes.
The police found Reddick unconscious a short while later. He remained in a coma for four days in the hospital; the record indicates he fully recovered from all physical injuries.

Interesting to note this was a historic case for hate crime legislation.
Now, here's the question. IF this had happened to you or your child, would your world view towards another race be slanted from then on? Or would you say, "Isolated incident....won't happen again." This is the take I get from The Islam Threads O' Plenty here as well. Some argue, "Happened once, Will happen again, Never trust an elf."
Gimli: Never thought I'd die fighting side by side with an Elf. Legolas: What about side by side with a friend? Gimli: Aye. I could do that.

My Grandfather despised Japanese people. I'm married to a wonderful lady, who happens to be... Japanese. I even speak it, semi-fluently. I've wondered what Gramps would have had to say about it. A few decades ago, we'd have been treated rather differently than we are today. Today, it doesn't raise many eyeborws.
Meta-ethical relativism is the meta-ethical position that the truth or falsity of moral judgments, or their justification, is not objective or universal but instead relative to the traditions, convictions, or practices of a group of people.
Slavery in the Bible? A-OK. Slavery in the Constitution? Amended out. Slavery today? Bad.
Originally, the Framers were very careful about avoiding the words "slave" and "slavery" in the text of the Constitution. Instead, they used phrases like "importation of Persons" at Article 1, Section 9 for the slave trade, "other persons" at Article 1, Section 2, and "person held to service or labor" at Article 4, Section 2 for slaves. Not until the 13th Amendment was slavery mentioned specifically in the Constitution. There the term was used to ensure that there was to be no ambiguity as what exactly the words were eliminating. In the 14th Amendment, the euphemism "other persons" (and the three-fifths value given a slave) was eliminated. The Slavery Topic Page has a lot more detail.

My grandmother was robbed by a black man in her driveway. While she did not hold all black people were bad, she would give to black men a bit more caution.
I was robbed by a white teenage boy. The psychological effects from the incident, I paid more attention to how I handled my belongings in public.
It isn't the race that depicts acts of violence or the effects of the violence.

In 1973 I walked into a restroom at a high school track meet, a group of Black guys walked in behind me pulled out a gun and beat the heck out of me
Sure it slanted my view for a time
Today My best Bud is a Black guy so it didn’t slant it forever.
They've done the Time Warp once too often and missed the last 150 years or so. If you try bringing them up to speed, they'll call it "revisionist history..." as if new finds should be ignored instead of included.
