One city resident is proposing a ballot measure that would ban circumcision in the City, according to the San Francisco Examiner.
If passed in November 2011, the measure would change San Francisco's police code “to make it a misdemeanor to circumcise, excise, cut or mutilate the foreskin, testicle or penis of another person who has not attained the age of 18.”
San Francisco is so embarrassing. They are the reasons California gets a bad rap and FYI, the rest of the state thinks SF is crazy and we want no part of their antics. Thankfully, these silly bans only affect San Francisco.

One of the most oppressive police states ever.
It all of this big government stuff that gives liberals a bad name. They are the antithesis of freedom.
Personal freedom has no meaning in CA. Big government and the nanny state is the rule.

So I take it you're in favor of mutilating your child's penis. You are apparently unaware that the popularity of male circumcision here in the USA was brought about by religious lunatics who were trying to prevent dirty, dirty masturbation.
It was promoted like this:
"A remedy for masturbation which is almost always successful in small boys is circumcision. The operation should be performed by a surgeon without administering an anesthetic, as the brief pain attending the operation will have a salutary effect upon the mind, especially if it be connected with the idea of punishment. In females, the author has found the application of pure carbolic acid to the clitoris an excellent means of allaying the abnormal excitement. "

Personal freedom is allowed in CA. Just not in SF obviously.
We had the personal choices to vote for marijuana reform and same sex marriage and both were shot down so please don't try to act like we have no say. What I am saying is the San Francisco politics is what gives the state a bad name. Just because SF is full of extreme leftists doesn't mean the rest of the state agrees.

You have the freedom to take your child out of the city and have them viciously mutilated elsewhere.

Wondering where the baby's personal freedom is when this is being forced upon him Wondering where the personal freedom of gay people is, too. So cut the crap and stop saying something you don't understand, such as the term personal freedom.
