Oh, dear. The tried and true pre-emptive strike strategy. Weaken Palin prior to the Presidential nominations in 2012, and paint her as a hopeless lunatic. Following the recent electoral drubbing they took, the jackass party has little else it can do to fire up its despondent constituencies.

What is fascinating about this is that most independents and moderate GOP voters refuse to take Palin seriously, making the left-wing media's fixation on her even more puzzling now than it was when they were attacking her husband, her daughter, or her developmentally disabled child.

The only motivation that can explain this persistent and ferocious offensive against Ms. Palin, then, is the Left's need to cripple her beyond repair as a presidential candidate in the run-up to 2012. Either that, or they and their media allies are just snobbish bullies with no knowledge or concern for the people who live in what they sneeringly refer to as "flyover America."

And we know THAT's not true, right?

Actually President Obama's approval rating is 47 % which is comparable to other presidents after midterm elections in which the party of the president lost majority control of Congress. Sarah Palin's favorable rating, which is 40% (52% unfavorable) can't be compared to the approval rating of a president. He's the commander in chief of the USA and she is the former governer of Alaska (who quit) and a losing VP candidate. There is no comparison.

Obama Approval Advances to 47%, Up From 43% Pre-Election

It's quite funny to see the liberals squirming. Palin really ticks them:

Actually no. Approvals and favorables are two different things. Those who hold office generally are polled on both favorables and approvals, those who don't are just polled on favorables.

Palin's favorables are slightly lower than Obama's approvals, however her favorables are considerably lower than his favorables.

Pssst 35-53 = -18 not -8......

She is not neck to neck with Obama in any favorable polls or any match up polls either.

Last few head to head polls

CNN/OR Obama 52-44

Bloomberg Obama 51-35

Fox/OD Obama 48-35
