He will renew them. He's already started backpeddling, why stop now? He'll come toward the middle and get re-elected and in 2016, a big change will happen with both houses and the presidency going to Repubs and Tea Party candidates (maybe we will end up with a third party, although I'm not holding my breath).
There are multiple "Tax Cuts," and Americans as a majority don't mind if the tax cuts for the wealthy are allowed to lapse. Your poll does not take this into account.
Also, Obama will probably fold like a noodle and allow all the tax cuts to remain in place, because he has never been in a fight, and wouldn't know how to start one. Instead of making Republicans show their true colors and admit publicly that they really only care about tax cuts for the wealthy, he will decide to let them save face while they roll him over. His weakness is boring now.
I don't think that most people care very much about these tax cuts. Lots of people would be happy to see them expire.
The thread title is making it sound like the American people widely support these tax cuts and want them to be continued. But I don;t really think this is a fact. Rather misleading thread title here.
It's funny how they use this as a wedge issue and people get all fired up about it. They sure know how to play the US people like a fiddle.
When Obama returns from his trip he will be faced with the decision about the Bush Tax cuts.
The majority know full well that letting the Bush tax cuts expire during one of the worst economic times of our lives would be a mistake.
The majority want the Bush tax cuts to continue.
Will Obama go against the will of the majority of Americans or will he say NO to us?
Lets see what his decision is.
I find it disturbing you did not even vote on your your own poll. Please give us your own opinion before asking everyone's else especially since you made this thread and made this poll public.
President Obama will compromise just to keep the middle class tax cuts in place but I wouldn't be a betting man on letting the wealthy keep theirs.
