WASHINGTON — The House on Monday voted to ban so-called crush videos that depict the abuse and killing of animals. The legislation, which the House originally passed in July, would make it a crime to sell or distribute videos that violate bans on animal cruelty by showing animals being burned, drowned, suffocated or impaled.
Such videos appeal to a sexual fetish by showing women, often barefoot or wearing high heels, stomping small animals to death.

I'm not so sure how you fit stomping on animals into free speech.
I'm pro hunting and certainly love my meat and potatoes so it's not an opinion from some PETA nutcase.
Burning the flag is free speech. Making a film is also free speech. If they have violated the law in making the film then arrest them for that charge.
when yous start picking and choosing what is free speech and expression based on the fact you do not like what is being expressed, then we lose free speech for all.
Free speech is about you having to listen or see something that is so against what you stand for and yet still respect their right to say it or film it.

Sick indeed, and often times these losers graduate to killing people.
Yeah, I read that most serial killers tortured animals for fun - but this looks like an entirely different level. The 'sickness' that seems to be spreading in America is a callous disregard for life - especially defenseless victims like animals and homeless 'bums'.
It's NOT free speech and it's NOT entertainment...

blah... blah... blah....
Torturing animals is a criminal offense. Everyone who participated in these videos deserves jail time.
When people abuse their right to free speech it's not free speech anymore.
As others have mentioned, many serial killers started out torturing animals before they practiced on people. Jeffrey Dahmer comes to mind.
I'm glad laws have been passed so that these people can be prosecuted. Let them find out in prison what it's like to be stomped on and tortured.
That's the way Dahmer died.
